VIDEO: Man Rams Police Car, Opens Fire On Cop Trapped Inside

Oklahoma City, OK – Officials released bodycam and surveillance video on Tuesday of the terrifying scene when a man repeatedly rammed a police officer’s vehicle and then tried to shoot him inside it (video below).

The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. on May 1 as Oklahoma City Police Officer Samuel Flowers was driving south on Martin Luther King Boulevard on his way to a disturbance call, the police department said in a statement released with the video.

Video from traffic cameras showed another driver – later identified as 37-year-old Quinton Pace – slammed his car into Officer Flower’s vehicle multiple times.

“I gotta guy that just tried to run into my car,” Officer Flowers told the dispatcher in the bodycam. “He’s coming up behind me now.”

“He’s coming back at me again now,” he said into the radio.

“Yeah, he just hit my car,” the officer confirmed to the dispatcher. “He’s taking off northbound again. Looks like he’s going to whip around again.”

Police said both vehicles became disabled after Pace crashed into the officer again at N.E. 52nd Street.

Bodycam showed the violent wreck from inside the police car.

“I’m hit, I’m trapped in the vehicle,” Officer Flowers told the dispatcher.

Police said that Pace got out of his vehicle with a gun and began shooting at the officer trapped behind the wheel.

Bodycam video showed that Officer Flowers grabbed his rifle and returned fire at Pace through his windshield and driver’s side window.

Pace was struck by a bullet and stopped shooting, according to police.

“Officer Flowers fired his rifle thought the patrol car’s windshield and driver’s side window, striking Mr. Pace and stopping his actions,” Oklahoma City Police Captain Dan Stewart said in the video.

Backup arrived on the scene quickly and took Pace into custody.

Both the officer and the gunman were transported to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said Officer Flowers was not shot but had sustained injuries in the wreck.

“I got some minor cuts, but I think I’m okay,” the officer said in the bodycam video.

Pace was arrested and charged with one count of shooting with the intent to kill and use of a firearm while committing a felony, KFOR reported.

He was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center.

Authorities have no idea what motivated Pace’s attack on Officer Flowers.

The investigation is ongoing, KFOR reported.
