A suspect is in custody after shooting two police officers in Montgomery, Alabama on Saturday. The officers were responding to a call of another person being shot. Police say the officers have non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities say they responded to a call of a person being shot after 2PM in the 3700 block of Lower Wetumpka Road. When they arrived, they located an adult make victim with life-threatening-injuries. The victim was transported to a local hospital.
Montgomery Police Chief Ernest Finley told WSFA that officers received suspect information that led them to a nearby neighborhood near 3000 Tyler Court. They located a suspect behind a storage shed behind the residence. An officer involved shooting occurred and two officers were hit, along with the suspect who was struck in the elbow. Both officers and the suspect were transported to separate hospitals.
Neither the suspect or officers have been identified. This is an ongoing investigation. We wish a speedy recovery to the officers.
