Las Vegas, NV – Police have released bodycam footage of an individual who was shot by police after he fired multiple rounds randomly at people at an apartment complex on Fremont Street.
Around 8:15 pm on May 4, police started receiving calls of shots fired at an apartment complex on Fremont Street. When officers arrived on the scene they found two males, one armed with a gun. The individuals informed police that a man from an adjacent complex was shooting randomly at people.
The shooter from the adjacent complex was identified as William Holt Jr. In addition to firing randomly into the complex, Holt was also firing at vehicles on the street.
“We have three victims and three witnesses said they were just outside and he came out and just started shooting at them for no reason,” – Sheriff Brett Zimmerman
Officers surrounded Holt’s apartment when he exited the apartment. At that point Holt fired a round and then retreated back into his apartment. The second time Holt exited his apartment, Officer Lindberg fired two shots at Holt hitting him. Officers attempted to administer medical treatment at the scene to Holt, but he was pronounced dead.
