2 Timothy 3:5-10…
However, keep in mind that there will be periods of tribulation in the latter days of the world. As a result, people will be self-centered and materialistic, arrogant and abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy and heartless, unspeakable and slanderous, lacking self-control and brutal, not loving good, treacherous and reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, putting on the appearance of godliness but denying its power. Stay away from such folks…
Global governments will use “swords” (i.e. government weaponry) against their populations in order to impose carbon prices on climate change mitigation and adaptation efforts. Understanding the ecological movement, as well as witnessing the governments of the globe march in lockstep towards the “APOCALYPSE,” is a fascinating experience. …
The federal government announced extraordinary actions on Tuesday to raise the water level in Lake Powell, the second-largest reservoir on the Colorado River and the source of the Colorado River’s water supply. The reservoir, which provides water and electricity to millions of people in seven states, has been reduced to 24 percent of its overall capacity, the lowest level in more than half a century, as a result of the drought.
While dealing with the worst drought in 1,200 years, the Bureau of Reclamation announced plans to release around 500 thousand acre-feet (kaf) of water from Flaming Gorge Reservoir, which is situated upstream and will flow into Lake Powell, as part of a drought relief effort. Lake Powell will hold an additional 480k kaf that would have been discharged from the man-made lake on the Utah-Arizona border if it had been allowed to do so.
Powell’s water surface height is 3,522 feet and is rapidly decreasing, necessitating this kind of emergency action to be taken. It is possible that the Glen Canyon Dam hydroelectric plant may become inoperable if the water level falls below 3,490 feet, which would cause electricity and water to be cut off to millions of people.
It was noted that the legislation “protects hydro-power production, the facility’s critical infrastructure, and water supplies for the city of Page in Arizona as well as the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation.”
This would give federal and state authorities an extra 12 months to explore further steps to prevent Lake Powell from dropping below the dangerous level of 3,490 feet, which would be catastrophic.
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Water and Science Tanya Trujillo said at a press conference that “we have never taken this step before in the Colorado River Basin, but the circumstances we are seeing today and the potential danger we are seeing on the horizon require that we take fast action.”
The water situation at Lake Powell, according to CNN’s interview with Bryan Hill, general manager of a public power company in Page, Arizona, is akin to the day of judgment.
It’s as though we’re banging on the door of judgment day… Hill earlier said that the day of judgment will come when we would no longer have any water to offer to anybody.
The decision comes two weeks after federal authorities considered whether to use steps to hold back water at the dam in order to safeguard the Glen Canyon Dam hydroelectric project. They have only had two weeks to respond, which signals that a water crisis is already begun.
Recently, Arizona’s top water authority, Tom Buschatzke, issued a dire warning about an imminent water catastrophe. The president said, “We’re going to have to get used to using less water.”
With summer still a month and a half away, official weather forecasters are already warning that severe drought conditions might intensify in the coming months. According to statistics from the United States Drought Monitor, most of the western United States is facing severe to exceptional drought conditions.
Several counties in Southern California have already declared a state of emergency due to a water scarcity, prohibiting citizens from watering their lawns or gardens outside. It is possible that this may spread to additional states that rely on the Colorado River when Lake Powell and Lake Mead (which are farther downstream) reach record low levels. The megadrought that has gripped the western section of the nation will not be alleviated any time soon.
People are going to become hot as the situation escalates…
It is hard to identify someone in the Bible who was a powerful force for God who did not have adversaries or who did not feel disliked by the people around him or her.
The LORD will turn the rain that falls on your land into powder and ashes, and it will drop down on you from the heavens until you are completely destroyed…
As the summer of 2014 approaches, actual life-and-death water shortages are developing across the southwestern United States as a result of all of the wasteful water dumping that has taken place. California’s water infrastructure is on the verge of collapse. The scientific review of a United States Geological Survey report conducted by Cornell University and the University of Arizona is raising concerns about future “mega-drought” scenarios that might last up to 35 years in the United States. According to the experts, the southwestern United States has a 50 percent risk of experiencing a decades-long drought over the next 100 years if current trends continue. They said that the present drought conditions in California are simply “a glimpse of our future,” and that an upcoming drought in the southwestern United States might be the worst drought the country has seen in the last two thousand years.
SRH: According to AP News, the megadrought in the United States West is still wreaking havoc, with federal authorities considering limiting water supply downstream on the Colorado River to avoid the closure of a large dam that supplies electricity to millions of people.
Lake Powell fell to 3,525 feet (1,075 meters) this month, the lowest level since the federal government dammed the Colorado River at Glen Canyon (northern Arizona) more than 50 years ago. As a result, Interior Department officials have proposed holding back water at the dam in order to retain the dam’s capacity to produce electricity.
Interior Assistant Secretary Tanya Trujillo warned that if Lake Powell dips below 3,490 feet (1,063 meters), it could disrupt the electricity infrastructure in the western United States, possibly impacting up to five million people in Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming.
“We’re in a crisis,” said Jack Schmidt, director of Utah State University’s Center for Colorado River Studies. “Health and human safety problems, including hydropower generation, are taking priority.”
Researchers have discovered that the US West has been suffering some of the driest circumstances in over 1,200 years, which coincides with the record low water level.
Drought conditions have been worse over the previous decade. Several large reservoirs in California have dried up, forcing people to abandon their boats and forcing hydroelectric facilities to shut owing to a lack of water to turn turbines.
Reservoir levels in California are far lower than they have been in the past (as of April 14).
The US West is facing severe to exceptional drought, according to statistics from the US Drought Monitor.
According to new estimates from federal government meteorologists, drought conditions might worsen significantly more this summer, with a 59 percent risk of La Nia for the Northern Hemisphere. Drier conditions would result as a result of this.
