Palm Beach Gardens, FL – March 18, 2024 – State Representative Candidate Meg Weinberger (FL-94) embarked on a unique journey on Thursday across her district to raise awareness about the alarming prevalence of animal crimes in Florida and to shine a light on America First common-sense policies.
Elite horse trainer Rick Steed kicked off the cross-state journey in Fort Myers, and Weinberger joined him in her Western Palm Beach County district, continuing through West Palm Beach and culminating on Palm Beach Island.
Weinberger, a longtime animal advocate and avid equestrian, seized this opportunity to connect with her constituents in a distinctive way, emphasizing her commitment to engage with residents often. Weinberger and Steed’s journey highlighted the importance of safeguarding the welfare of animals and championing policies that prioritize the interests of the community.
Reflecting on the experience, the GOP candidate said, “I’ve been riding horses since I was five years old. I am passionate about the mutually beneficial bond between humans and animals. That is why I am laser-focused on eradicating horrific animal crimes that, tragically, are widespread in our state. I am fighting tirelessly to ensure Florida adopts common sense America First principles and will make all of our residents—on two and four legs—safer and more prosperous.

“Nowadays, one of my favorite places to be is saddled up on a horse and riding along a trail. This journey running for the state house has led me to want to learn as much about every single part of our district as I can. Once elected, I want to do everything I can to serve our community the best way possible.”
Throughout their trek, Weinberger and Steed were met with overwhelming support from residents, who generously offered resources such as water, shaded parking lots, words of encouragement and the constant honking of the cars passing by. The collaborative effort underscored the unity and solidarity within the community, reinforcing Weinberger’s dedication to representing their interests in the state legislature.
One of Weinberger most urgent campaigns, inspired by the horrific illegal slaughter for meat of a beloved horse named “War on the Homefront,” whom her group rescued and found a home for, is to create a state-run task force to investigate and prosecute Florida-based crimes of this horrific nature against animals. Every year, it is estimated that 30,000 horses are illegally slaughtered.
“I love these horses. I am committed to seeing Florida institute stronger laws to punish people who commit these horrible acts of animal cruelty,” she said. “I’ll never stop fighting for the animals that can’t fight for themselves. We are the voice for the voiceless.”
As the August 2024 election approaches, Weinberger continues to engage with constituents, listening to their concerns, and advocating for policies that uphold the values of integrity, compassion, and progress. Her journey across the district not only symbolizes her unwavering commitment to serving the people and animals of our Florida communities but also serves as a beacon of hope for a brighter future for all.
