“Community college graduates provide more security for their families, they invest in their local schools and businesses, and they bring needed skills to our workforce, helping us to meet the challenges of the twenty first century,” said First Lady Jill Biden in a speech on Monday.
“That’s why we need two years of free community college. Thank you, Mr. President. And when we give all Americans the chance to learn from preschool to community college, it will create a ripple effect that is felt by every single one of us. There is no greater investment than we can make than in education, as we all know. And we must provide support and resources so that our students can make it across the finish line.”
“Joe [Biden] knows that he saw it in his classes when he taught law school, and he’s heard it from me every single day when I finish teaching my classes. But it’s not enough to know it takes action. And what drew me to Joe all those many years ago was his strength. And beneath his kindness and his charm and his good humor is a man who keeps his promises. He does the necessary work and shows up when it matters. And today, the American rescue plan, the American jobs plan and the American families plan will work together to deliver the future we need. He’s going to deliver on our promise for opportunity for all Americans with universal preschool, quality public schools and free community college. Our country is going to rise together.”
Why only two??? Since we are printing money and future debt is not an issue … let’s make it 4. pic.twitter.com/17iowewBKV
