They’re just brimming these days with great ideas.
It is hard to say which is their best idea. There are so many good ones to choose from. Is it Defund the Police or Abolish the Police? Is it Abolish ICE? Is it toppling statues of George Washington? Is it censoring the internet? Is it the discovery of 20,000 new genders? Is it working with private groups to create a surveillance state to spy on American citizens? Is it paying ranchers not to raise cattle in order to raise the price of beef and making it less affordable to fight climate change. Is it treating black people like children by banning menthol cigarettes for their own good? Is it resettling thousands of refugees in the United States that no one wants here?
“(CNN) – The Biden administration will raise the refugee ceiling to 62,500 people this fiscal year, the White House confirmed, after receiving swift criticism last month when President Joe Biden kept the lower Trump-era cap in place.
“I am revising the United States’ annual refugee admissions cap to 62,500 for this fiscal year,” Biden said in a lengthy statement Monday. “This erases the historically low number set by the previous administration of 15,000, which did not reflect America’s values as a nation that welcomes and supports refugees.”
Biden said he plans to set a goal of 125,000 refugee admissions for fiscal year 2022 as well, in line with a commitment he made in his first foreign policy address at the State Department.
Monday’s announcement gets the administration back to its initial proposal that was introduced in February. …”
