Nearly 150 Illegals Caught By Border Patrol Inside Tractor-Trailer; None Were Wearing Masks

U.S. Border Patrol agents caught nearly 150 illegal immigrants who were hiding inside a tractor-trailer — and none of them were wearing masks.

Agents in Laredo, Texas apprehended 149 illegal immigrants in the back of a tractor-trailer during a checkpoint stop on Interstate Highway 35, Customs and Border Protection announced on Monday.

None of the people in the sealed area of the vehicle had on masks.

There was an “increase in COVID-19 infections among details,” CBP noted, warning about “the transporting of large groups of people without PPE in close dangerous quarters.”

The migrants came from Central American countries, including Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Venezuela, El Salvador, Peru, and Ecuador. The driver, a U.S. citizen, was arrested as well.

The number of migrants coming to the southern border has rapidly ballooned in 2021 thanks to Joe Biden’s lax and welcoming immigration policies.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton accused Joe Biden of putting Texans “at-risk” with an influx of migrants who have coronavirus.

During an interview on Fox News, Paxton said the Biden Administration “adopted this policy of open borders and they’re sticking with it despite the consequences of the spread of COVID, human trafficking, increase in drug trafficking, and an increase of crime and just general chaos.”

“They adopted this policy of open borders and they’re sticking with it despite the consequences of the spread of COVID, human trafficking, increase in drug trafficking, an increase of crime, and just general chaos … You know, you’ve got all of these kids that are caged up that shouldn’t be here,” Paxton said.

“It is so sad because we’ve seen this happen before and saw this happen under Obama, we saw it happening at the beginning of the Trump Administration. We got it cut back. We saw what the consequences were, we saw the consequences to those that were coming, the negative consequences to these children, and we saw the negative consequences to our state and to our country and, yet, for some reason, we want to repeat that,” he said.

Paxton continued: “I have no good explanation for why he is doing it. It certainly isn’t good for our country and it isn’t for the kids who are coming across the border.”

Paxton said Texas will take legal action against the Biden administration.

“We have a lawsuit to stop them from not enforcing federal law relating to people coming across the border. They are supposed to be arresting and deporting these people,” he said.

He added: “We haven’t gotten into court to show that evidence. At some point, it will take a while. We have an injunction. We need to get back in court and have the opportunity to have the court put it back in place.”

Last month, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy left White House press secretary Jen Psaki completely stumped over a question about the border crisis.

Doocy cornered Psaki over migrant detention centers being open at full capacity while schools are closed amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The incident began after Doocy hammered Psaki over the ongoing border crisis, asking the press secretary if Joe Biden has a “messaging problem.”

At one point, Psaki started laughing, which then led Doocy to say, “It’s not funny.
