Last week, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) delivered a blistering floor speech, attacking Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Schumer then refused to allow Netanyahu to speak to the Senate to address aid issues.
Now, Speaker Johnson (R-LA) has stated that he plans to invite Netanyahu to speak before the House.
Flipping the Script
Schumer’s speech got the attention of everyone because what he said could be considered election interference.
Schumer stated, “However, I also believe Prime Minister Netanyahu has lost his way by allowing his political survival to take the precedence over the best interests of Israel.”
He then accused Netanyahu of being in a coalition with “far-right extremists” and being “too willing to tolerate the civilian toll in Gaza, which is pushing support for Israel worldwide to historic lows.
“As a lifelong supporter of Israel, it has become clear to me: The Netanyahu coalition no longer fits the needs of Israel after Oct. 7.”
Schumer then called for a new election in Israel to replace Netanyahu… so if that is not foreign election interference, I have no idea what is.
Johnson decided to step in to let Netanyahu know that America is still behind Israel.
When asked about the Schumer speech and his plans, Johnson stated, “We will certainly extend that invitation. What Chuck Schumer did was just almost staggering, just unbelievable.
“I wish Schumer would keep his comments to himself on all that.”
I continue to stress the fact that the death toll in Palestine is not out of line with other wars.
In fact, the roughly 2:1 civilian to fighter deaths are below other historical wars, which is amazing when you consider that Hamas hides among citizens.
And again, if Palestine wants to put an end to this, why is its leadership not stepping up to help Israel defeat Hamas?
If Palestine is not fighting Hamas, it stands to reason that Palestine supports the terrorist organization, so you will not find much sympathy here for those Democrat talking points regarding this conflict.
