Former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett received major backlash on Twitter after condemning the Columbus police officer who shot and killed a 16-year-old girl on a stabbing spree.
Jarrett said the officer was in the wrong for trying to “break up a knife fight,” referring to Ma’Khia Bryant trying to stab two girls with a kitchen knife on Tuesday night before being shot dead, which was documented by the officer’s body cam.
“A Black teenage girl named Ma’Khia Bryant was killed because a police officer immediately decided to shoot her multiple times in order to break up a knife fight. Demand accountability. Fight for justice. #BlackLivesMatter,” Jarrett tweeted Wednesday.
The blatantly obvious attempted murder captured on video totally blows Jarrett’s gaslighting out of the water, earning her a deluge of critical comments – many by fellow leftists.
“One-sided knife fight,” one users noted, attaching a still image of Bryant trying to stab a girl.

What about the life if the girls she was actively trying to stab? What should the officer have done?

“She was trying to stab a girl to death with a steak knife you ridiculous lying phony,” another user said.

It’s amazing that this is a real tweet from a real person.

Did you see the video? She was about to stab another teenager. Please don’t speak until you’ve seen the video. I like you, but your statement is wrong.

What is the appropriate response when encountering someone attacking another person with a knife?
— Jonathan Bartlett (@jb_61820) April 21, 2021
I think he acted correctly. His job was to prevent an assault with a deadly weapon. He did it. A split second later the unarmed girl could have been killed.

Yeah, it was just a knife fight. Like kids do. Like learning to ride a bike …

Is there evidence the other teenager also had a knife? If there isn’t then that’s not a knife fight. That’s a stabbing and kills more people than AR15s by quite a large margin.

Jarrett isn’t the only one perpetrating staggering gaslighting.
One BLM activist said that teens fighting with knifes has been happening “for eons”, so the officer shouldn’t have gotten involved.
The prosecutor in Derek Chauvin’s trial went as far as to falsely claim that Bryant was “unarmed.”
The American Civil Liberties Union also demanded “police accountability”, claiming Bryant was “murdered.”
Less than 24 hours after Chauvin’s guilty verdict, and the left is already hard at work trying to twist and spin another officer-involved shooting to fit their narrative that America is the most racist place on Earth.
