Mark McCloskey considering a run for Missouri Senate

Mark McCloskey, one half of the viral gun-totin’ couple who confronted BLM protesters in June of last year, is considering a run for Missouri Senate.

Republican Roy Blunt will vacate the seat and McCloskey said running for the seat is “a consideration.”

“I can confirm that it’s a consideration, yes,” McCloskey said in a brief interview on Tuesday evening with Politico.

The report adds “this past weekend, McCloskey spoke at a Jackson County GOP dinner, which also drew former Gov. Eric Greitens and state Attorney General Eric Schmitt, both of whom have announced their candidacies.”

At the time of his famous confrontation, McCloskey said “a mob of at least 100 smashed through the historic wrought-iron gates of Portland Place, destroying them, rushed toward my home, where my family was having dinner outside and put us in fear of our lives.”

“This is all private property,” he continued. “There are no public sidewalks or public streets. We were told that we would be killed, our home burned, and our dog killed. We were all alone facing an angry mob.”
