While a lot of attention is often focused on battling the liberal agenda in Washington, D.C., much of the battle actually occurs in the states. On Wednesday, Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts talked with the CEO of the Goldwater Institute about fighting back against the Left’s agenda across the country, from local school boards to state legislatures.

Goldwater’s Victor Riches was Roberts’ guest on “The Kevin Roberts Show” podcast, and the two discussed the battles over school choice, parental rights, and transgenderism in schools, as well as Goldwater’s new pro bono legal network in the states. The institute has trained over 800 attorneys to litigate cases through state, rather than the federal, constitutions.
One case involves a mother in Maine discovering “her daughter was given a chest binder by her school,” according to Riches. The school was also using a male name and pronouns for the female student and explicitly told her not to speak with her parents about the “gender swap.”
