Ron DeSantis Jumps to Rumble After YouTube Removes Video Challenging Lockdowns

Say one thing about Gov. Ron DeSantis, he puts his money where his mouth is. DeSantis speaks out about Big Tech censorship. YouTube removes a video the governor did with doctors because they weren’t from YouTube’s approved list of doctors. So Ron DeSantis is taking his talents to Rumble. Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski made the announcement.

Gov. Ron DeSantis is a longtime proponent of free speech and has been at the forefront of the effort to de-monopolize Big Tech. He understands firsthand, Americans’ distrust of monolithic tech companies and the danger they pose to free expression and free markets.

It’s unclear whether DeSantis is leaving YouTube completely. Right now, he only has one Rumble video up. I’m sure this video wasn’t chosen accidentally.

Some of our biggest media conglomerates, who claim to be avatars of the First Amendment and free exchange of ideas, they really become cheerleaders for censorship. If something doesn’t fit the overriding narrative, then in their view it’s better that it get left on the cutting room floor. It’s best that you edit it out of existence, rather than actually tell people the truth.

Here’s why this matters. Everyone on the right agrees we need free speech-supporting alternatives to Big Tech. Everyone also knows Ron DeSantis is the de facto 2024 GOP front-runner. Conservative media knows it. Liberal media knows it, as evidenced by the increasing number of hit pieces. In order for any Big Tech alternatives to have a chance, they need to grow their audiences so that they rival Big Tech. Having someone like DeSantis make the jump, the de facto 2024 front-runner who is a major player in national politics, could be the jolt an alternative like Rumble needs.

Plus, conservatives could stand to have a few elected officials show some ballsack for a change. Ron DeSantis made the jump. Let’s see who follows.
