Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) had strong words for President Joe Biden the day after Iran launched a drone and missile attack on Israel.
The unprecedented attack on the Jewish state prompted a call between Biden and his Israeli counterpart Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which he urged him to not retaliate against the Islamic theocracy with the details of the conversation very quickly showing up in the media.
The Florida Republican blasted Biden who he accused of leaking the contents of the call to appease his rabidly anti-Israel, Jew-hating base which is furious with him over the lack of a Gaza ceasefire.
Rubio appeared on Sunday’s edition of “State of the Union” on CNN where he argued to anchor Jake Tapper that the call in which he said that the U.S. wouldn’t “support” a counterattack and told Bibi to “take the win” after the attack caused little damage.

“Do you support U.S. strikes on Iran?” Tapper asked. “And if not how do you think the Biden administration should respond?”
“Well I support defending American troops in the region,” the senator replied. “We have people stationed in the region in multiple countries and we sent them there. Whether people like them being there or not, the bottom line is we sent these young Americans and our job is to protect them so I’m in favor of doing anything we can to protect them and prevent them from being attacked.”
“But Israel is not asking us to launch attacks on Iran,” he said despite some claims to the contrary. “I have never heard the Israelis come to us and say will you help us or will you attack Iran or go after Iran, they’re not asking for that. They’re not asking for it,” Rubio told Tapper.
“But I think we go from that to the other extreme, which is Joe Biden telling Netanyahu, ‘Take the win, don’t do anything,’ and then his people leaking it to the media, leaking it to the press,” he said, accusing Biden’s team of leaking the call. “And what it sets up is, they know that Israel’s going to respond. They know this for a fact so, why would the White House leak it?”
“There’s only one reason they leaked that. And that is that so when Israel does respond, the White House can say, “We told them not to do it,” and at least somehow in some way, appease these so-called peace activists,” Rubio added. “By the way, these ‘ceasefire now’ people who were out yesterday cheering the launch of hundreds of rockets and drones and missiles against Israel. People that are out there cheering military attacks of this scale and scope are not peace activists.”
“These are anti-semites, anti-Israel, pro-terrorist elements out there and we need to stop calling them peace activists. They are not peace activists,” he said. “You don’t — peace activists do not cheer massive attacks against other countries, which is what they were doing yesterday. So, I guess this is part of the White House’s effort to appease them by putting this out proactively.”
Senator Rubio seemed to be referring to the disgusting display by elements of the Democrat base in Chicago – the host city for this year’s Democratic National Committee convention – who celebrated the Iranian attack.

“I’ve just spoken with Prime Minister Netanyahu to reaffirm America’s ironclad commitment to the security of Israel. I told him that Israel demonstrated a remarkable capacity to defend against and defeat even unprecedented attacks – sending a clear message to its foes that they cannot effectively threaten the security of Israel,” Biden said in a statement.
