New Report from Princeton Policy Advisor Estimates that 1.2 Million Illegal Aliens Will Reach the Southern Border

The following article, New Report from Princeton Policy Advisor Estimates that 1.2 Million Illegal Aliens Will Reach the Southern Border, was first published on Big League Politics.

According to projections from Princeton Policy Advisor Steven Kopits, immigration officials estimate that they could encounter roughly 1.2 million illegal aliens at the end of 2021 if current illegal immigration levels remain steady.

We should not forget that, as John Binder of Breitbart News points out, this immigration wave is “the result of President Joe Biden’s policies.”

The report from Kopits came in the wake of figures showing immigration officials arresting roughly 170,000 border crossers. Binder observed that “more than 18,600 UACs, nearly 53,000 family units, and nearly 97,000 single adults” were among the border crossers.

“At the current pace, apprehensions for calendar year 2021 could be forecast at 1.2 million, following the precedents of 2005 and 2006,” Kopits stated.

Binder added some context to the current immigration crisis, which is not only concentrated at the border:

At the border, tens of thousands of border crossers are being released into the nation’s interior while illegal aliens already living in the U.S. have nearly no chance of being deported unless they have been recently convicted of an aggravated felony.

The immigration issue is not going away anytime soon. In the last election cycle, Republican voters viewed immigration as the number #1 issue at the time and will likely continue to do so now that the border situation is looking like a scene from The Camp of the Saints.

America is a republic governed by laws. In addition it has coherent borders that must be diligently patrolled. A presidential administration that fails to do so is only leaving the country vulnerable to social destabilization from bad actors abroad.

Forget policing the world, the US needs to start policing its border if it wants to survive the 21st century as a coherent political unit.
