House Democrats didn’t need to do anything else to prove that they are a completely unserious party, but they just can’t help themselves.
On Friday, a trio of leftist lawmakers introduced a resolution to rename a prison in South Florida after former President Donald J. Trump, a silly attention-grabbing stunt to troll their GOP colleagues.
Reps. Gerry Connolly (D-Va.), Jared Moskowitz (D-Fla.), and John Garamendi (D-Calif.) proposed changing the official name of the Miami Federal Correctional Institution to the Donald J. Trump Federal Correctional Institution with a bill that will likely be very attractive to other members of the Democrat congressional clown caucus.

The bill comes after House Republicans proposed changing the name of Dulles International Airport – one of the three major airports that serve Washington, D.C, – to Donald J. Trump International Airport.
“When our Republican colleagues introduced their bill to rename Dulles after Donald Trump, I said the more fitting option would be to rename a federal prison,” Connolly said in a statement.
“I see no reason to wait. Donald Trump faces nearly 100 felony charges. He has been found liable of sexual abuse and, subsequently, for defaming the victim of that abuse. He has been fined hundreds of millions of dollars in a civil fraud case. It is only right that the closest federal prison to Mar-a-Lago should bear his name. I hope our Republican friends will join us in bestowing upon Donald J. Trump the only honor he truly deserves,” added the congressman, whose district covers a portion of the proposed Donald J. Trump International Airport.
“Everyone knows President Trump loves to write his name in gold letters on all his buildings,” Moskowitz said. “But he’s never had his name on a federal building before and as a public servant I just want to help the former president. Help us make that dream a reality.”
The Florida Democrat’s name on the resolution is predictable with him having established a reputation for the sort of silly and immature stunts that the party’s elected representatives regularly partake in. He recently showed up for a hearing sporting a mask of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

“As always, my Democratic colleagues and I remain willing to work with anyone on commonsense solutions to real world problems,” added Garamendi, the bill’s other co-sponsor.
Earlier this week, House Republicans led by Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-Pa.) proposed renaming Dulles after Trump which would be the second D.C. airport to be named after an iconic GOP president, with Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport honoring the nation’s 40th president.
Freedom. Prosperity. Strength.
That’s what America stood for under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump — the best president of my lifetime.

“Donald Trump is facing 91 felony charges. If Republicans want to name something after him, I’d suggest they find a federal prison,” whined Connolly, a hardened Trump hater.
