Former Vice President Mike Pence created a new conservative advocacy group Wednesday that will, among other things, advocate for the rights of unborn babies and pro-life Americans.
The AP reports the organization, Advancing American Freedom, aims to promote conservative values and the successful policies of President Donald Trump’s administration.
“Conservatives will not stand idly by as the radical Left and the new administration attempt to threaten America’s standing as the greatest nation in the world with their destructive policies,” Pence said in a statement announcing his new organization.
According to The Christian Post, this includes stopping taxpayer dollars from funding the abortion industry both in the U.S. and abroad and defending religious liberty, including the conscience rights of medical workers.

The Biden administration and Democrat leaders are doing the opposite. Right now, they are pushing Congress to pass the Equality Act, legislation that could erase conscience protections and force pro-life doctors and nurses to help abort unborn babies. In January, Biden also signed an executive order repealing the Mexico City policy and forcing Americans to fund abortion groups that promote and perform abortions across the world.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of the Susan B. Anthony List and an advisory board member of the new organization, told the Christian Post that Pence is a strong pro-life leader who is stepping up at a critical time.
“This is a larger moment for the pro-life movement. And for him to lead at this moment is particularly important, and it is a watershed because of the complete transformation of the federal judiciary,” she said.
“All of those [state-level pro-life] bills will require articulation, they require advocacy, and then the people who are the governors, who are signing those bills, the legislators that are advancing those bills, the people running for Congress later need an advocate that has a high profile, [an] articulate advocate like Mike Pence,” Dannenfelser continued.
Other advisory board members include former Reagan administration Attorney General Ed Meese, former Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, former U.S. Sens. Rick Santorum and Jim DeMint, Texas megachurch Pastor Robert Jeffress and former Heritage Foundation president Kay James.
The AP suggested the organization may be a sign of Pence’s plans to run for president in 2024.
Pence has been a strong advocate for unborn babies throughout his life. A former congressman and Indiana governor, he and his family have been involved in numerous efforts to protect unborn babies, support mothers in need and prohibit abortions.
