In this particular case, we refer to an excerpt of an exclusive report by Jennie Taer and published by NYPost.com:
A Lebanese migrant who was caught sneaking over the border admitted he’s a member of Hezbollah, he hoped to make a bomb, and his destination was New York, The Post can reveal.
Basel Bassel Ebbadi, 22, was caught by border patrol on March 9 near El Paso, Texas. While in custody he asked what he was doing in the US, to which he replied: “I’m going to try to make a bomb,” according to a Border Patrol document exclusively obtained by The Post.
But Ebbadi later claimed in an interview that he had been trying to flee Lebanon and Hamas because he “didn’t want to kill people” and said “once you’re in in, you can never get out,” according to internal ICE documents.
According to a “Significant Arrest” document released by Customs and Border Protection, Ebbadi told agents “in a sworn interview after his arrest that he had trained with Hezbollah for seven years and served as an active member guarding weapons locations for another four years.”
Ebbadi reportedly said his training had focused on “jihad” and killing people “that was not Muslim.”
He also claimed his identification documents had been stolen while he was in Costa Rica.
Taer wrote in the exclusive New York Post report:
He also admitted to using a fake birthday and name in Sweden, in Ecuador — where he claimed his father resides — and Panama this year.
He said he had originally hoped to go to New York and then move around the country.
News Nation correspondent Ali Bradley confirmed Taer’s report. Bradley wrote:
Multiple CBP sources confirm to me that 22 y/o Basel Bassel Ebbadi from Lebanon was apprehended entering into El Paso illegally March 11th—He reportedly told medical staff during a screening “I’m going to try to make a bomb.” The following day he claimed to be a member of the foreign terrorist organization, Hezbollah.
**I want to stress that these are CLAIMS he made. As you might imagine—It is not normal for someone tied to a terrorist group to openly give that information. Will keep an eye on it and report anything that comes out of this.**

NEW: @CBP statement on illegal immigrant from Lebanon claiming to be part of a foreign terrorist organization—
“If an individual poses a potential threat to national security or public safety, we deny admission, detain, remove, or refer them to other federal agencies for further vetting, investigation and/or prosecution as appropriate.”
On background, the agency says Ebbadi is in federal custody saying DHS screens and vets individuals before they enter the U.S. to identify national security or public safety threats. The agency says it then takes appropriate action which includes preventing someone from entering the country.
