Watch: Group harasses, berates officers sitting in their patrol car (for no reason) in police-defunded New York City

NEW YORK CITY, NY – A video recently shared by the New York City Police Benevolent Association depicted two NYPD officers being harassed while simply sitting inside of their patrol vehicle by a group of presumably anti-police protesters.

While little to no context is afforded to what preceded the footage captured, the harassment and beratement of the officers seen in the video seems incredibly difficult to attempt to justify or condone.

It is hardly novel news to come across individuals that just generally loathe police officers.

Anti-authoritarianism, and the various ideologies that stem or branch off from that dogma, has been around for some time and can often manifest into unsavory outbursts and rhetoric.

Such is the case for a recent video shared by the NYC PBA that shows a group of men surrounding an NYPD cruiser and going on a verbally abusive tirade, rife with expletives and generally derogatory epithets.

The roughly two minute video that captured the unpleasant display put on by this group was said to have occurred within the upper Manhattan area on April 6th.

For reasons unknown, this group had approached the squad car and immediately one of the men start demanding one of the officer’s badge number.

After hurling one derogatory term after another, one individual had placed a little toy pig on top of the hood of the car, when someone can be heard yelling:

“That’s a pig. That’s a gift for you bitch.”

One must remember, New York City has a lot of people; and this obscene group is clearly not among the upper echelons of the city’s intelligent population.

As the patrol vehicle begins to drive away from the area that this group had assembled, one man carrying a loudspeaker begins to shout:

“Get the fuck out of the fucking hood bitch…Get the fuck out! Move!”

The anti-police talking points were on full display, with the megaphone man reciting stereotypical tropes such as accusing the officer in the driver’s seat of being a “woman beater”:

“Woman beater…you beat your wife you piece of shit.”

For those that have worked in any level of law enforcement, they’ve likely heard this frankly stupid recitation that somewhere along the lines of 40% of police officers abuse their spouses at home.

This frankly unscientific statistic comes from a small sample of interviews conducted in 1983 that consisted of 479 police spouses and 728 police officers.

In that small sample size that consisted of “two East Coast police departments”, 10% of police spouses proclaimed at one time or another they were assaulted by their spouse.

Where that “40%” figure comes into play is when the police officers were interviewed during this study they were simply asked if they had ever “gotten out of control” or “behaved violently” toward their spouse or children, which included such instances like raising a voice or slamming a door.

It’s safe to say that there’s no credible evidence to proclaim that 40% of police officers beat their spouses, it’s just a myth that dogmatic people married to the anti-police ideology love clinging to because it serves as a confirmation bias.

As for the ridiculous display that took place in New York City, reportedly no arrests occurred as a result of what transpired in the video.

In other news stemming from New York that was also caught on camera, a pipeline protester had a bit of a fall when trying to scale a building to engage in some graffiti.

Here’s that previous report.

NEW YORK CITY, NY – A video captured outside of the Chase Bank building in Manhattan on April 2nd shows a peak example of just comeuppance, as a would-be vandal attempting to scale the building to vandalize the upper portions fell well over 10 feet – landing firmly on his side and back.

Apparently protesters have amassed throughout the streets of New York City, Washington, D.C., and various other places across the country to protest Enbridge’s Line 3 in Minnesota in recent weeks.

These protests that transpired are apparently an attempt to urge the Biden administration to pump the brakes on construction of Line 3 and the Dakota Access Pipeline.

For instance, students from Northwestern University in Illinois wound up occupying a Wells Fargo Bank lobby and started engaging in some kind of somber seeming humming/chanting that sounded so unenthusiastic that it edged on apathetic.

But one group that had gathered outside of a Chase Bank in Manhattan had bore witness to an emblematic depiction of karma for one protester trying to climb up a building wall in order to lay down some graffiti.

In the video, the protester can be seen climbing up a stylistic wall that hosted ridges where he could grip with his hands and feet. As the man begins to shimmy up well over 10 feet in the air, he attempts to bring himself over to an adjacent elevated platform.

Yet, it seems that his grip on the adjacent platform was not as strong as he had assumed.

The protester fell well over 10 feet and landed on part of his back and side. Onlookers ran right over to help the man who’d just fallen, as the protester lets out a sort of defeated-sounding groan of pain.

Not long thereafter, one can see what appears to be black paint seeping out of the parcel on the man’s back.

A security guard on scene had urged bystanders to get back as EMS were on their way, although members of the local fire department did wind up responding.

It’s unclear at the time of this writing what the exact status is of the fallen protester.
