Republicans threaten to take Biden to court over his executive actions on guns

House Republicans threatened to sue President Biden over his executive actions on gun control.

Biden is seeking to crack down on “ghost guns,” pass stricter laws on background checks and ban assault weapons.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy tweeted “President Biden has ordered the DOJ to issue new rules that will surely result in unconstitutional overreach. Republicans will strongly oppose and pursue every option—be it legislative or judicial—to protect the right to keep and bear arms from infringement by this Administration.”

Rep. Mike Gallagher tweeted a day later “The actions President Biden took yesterday chip away at the right to bear arms and are a blatant example of executive overreach. We all want to keep guns away from dangerous individuals, but infringing on the second amendment and punishing law-abiding gun owners isn’t the answer.”

Rep. Taylor Green tweeted:

[email protected] nor any other has no power to infringe on Americans 2nd Amendment rights.

That phrase about “security of a free state” and “right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” is there just for times as these.

And the people know it.

She added in a separate tweet featuring a photo of herself shooting a firearm “The right of the people to keep and bear arms SHALL NOT be infringed!”
