Covid tracker: California surpassed 20 million vaccinations administered as of April 6

California reached a milestone with more than 20 million vaccinations administered as of Tuesday, April 6.

The 20.2 million shots that have been put in people’s arms, means 7.5 million people, or 18.9% of the state, are fully vaccinated. Two of the three vaccine options out there require two doses.

According to the end-of-day totals from California public health websites Tuesday, there were 2,395 new cases of the coronavirus reported statewide, bringing the total number of cases there have been to 3,659,862.

There were 105 new deaths reported Tuesday, for a total of 59,450 people in California who have died from the virus.

The state reported 2,366 people in hospitals with coronavirus-related infections. That’s seven fewer patients than Monday.
