On Monday night’s episode of his CNN talk show, host Chris Cuomo finally addressed the sexual harassment claims that have been made against his older brother, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D).
Chris Cuomo Breaks His Silence About Brother’s Scandal
Chris opened his show by addressing the scandal while also adding that he will not be reporting on it himself.
“Before we start tonight, let me say something that I’m sure is very obvious to you who watch my show — and thank you for that. You’re straight with me, I’ll be straight with you,” Chris said.
“Obviously, I’m aware of what’s going on with my brother. And obviously, I cannot cover it because he is my brother,” he added.
“Now, of course, CNN has to cover it. They have covered it extensively and they will continue to do so,” he continued.
“I have always cared very deeply about these issues, and profoundly so. I just wanted to tell you that,” Cuomo concluded. “There’s a lot of news going on that matters also, so let’s get after that.”

Over the past week, multiple women have come forward to accuse Andrew of sexual harassment and inappropriate behavior in the workplace.
Chris Interviewed His Brother Often Last Year
Chris’s statement that he “obviously” can’t cover his brother’s scandal is hard to stomach after their many chummy interviews together that aired last year on CNN at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Fox News.
It has only been in recent weeks that the mainstream media has started to criticize CNN for allowing Chris to joke around with his brother in interviews on what is billed to be a serious news network.
CNN released a statement last month in which it defended the interviews between the Cuomo brothers last year, saying that it was an exception to a network rule that was only made because of the seriousness of COVID-19.
“The early months of the pandemic crisis were an extraordinary time,” a CNN spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight. “We felt that Chris speaking with his brother about the challenges of what millions of American families were struggling with was of significant human interest.”
“As a result, we made an exception to a rule that we have had in place since 2013 which prevents Chris from interviewing and covering his brother, and that rule remains in place today. CNN has covered the news surrounding Governor Cuomo extensively,” the network added.
Maybe more Americans will now realize that Donald Trump may have been on to something when he dubbed CNN to be “fake news.”
