Fired-up CPAC speakers declare Donald Trump the clear leader of the conservative movement

Many in the left-leaning mainstream media would like for you to believe that the Republican party, in general, is at the end of its rope, thanks to bitter, intra-party fighting between the GOP establishment and the movement created by former President Donald Trump.

While that narrative contains some grains of truth, the GOP is most certainly not as weak as some would like you to believe it is.

As a matter of fact, according to Breitbart, speakers at the Orlando-based Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) this week assured voters that not only is the conservative movement alive and well, but that Republicans are fired up and ready for Trump to lead them into battle for the 2022 midterm elections and beyond.

High praise for Trump

Sure, there have been a few dust-ups between Trump and establishment-types such as Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), but what seems like a healthy majority of high-profile Republicans believe that with Trump’s powerful influence, winning back one or both chambers of Congress next year is all but a done deal.

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), for instance, drew wild applause after his fiery speech on the state of the party and the current state of the country under President Joe Biden’s rule. The crowd roared after he proclaimed that “Donald Trump ain’t going anywhere.”

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was another hit speaker at the conference, but warned Republicans that it would be a mistake to try and “go back to the days of the failed Republican establishment of yesteryear.” That same sentiment was echoed by Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL), who warned his GOP colleagues that losing Trump’s loyal and massive base of supporters would be a death blow in 2022.

Not to be outdone, Donald Trump Jr. pumped up the energetic audience and honored the 45th president — his father — by renaming the conference to “TPAC,” telling the audience that in no way, shape or form would his father’s upcoming speech be anywhere near “low-energy.”

“And I assure you that it will solidify Donald Trump and all of your feelings about the MAGA movement as the future of the Republican Party,” Trump Jr. said.

As USA Today reported, Trump’s Sunday CPAC speech will not only mark his first public speech since leaving the White House last month, but he’ll reportedly use his time on stage to solidify his commitment to carrying on the MAGA energy he generated during his time in the White House along with a planned verbal attack on President Joe Biden’s administration.

Only time will tell how Republicans fair in the 2022 midterms, but the excitement and energy at this year’s CPAC is undeniable and if it’s a predictor of what’s to come, it very much appears as if Republicans stand a solid chance of reclaiming lost territory.
