Last weekend, so-called infectious disease “expert” Dr. Anthony Fauci was asked if it was safe for people to visit their grandparents and elderly relatives once the at-risk family members have received both doses of the vaccine.
Here was Fauci’s response to the question:
Dr. Fauci told CNN that “there will be recommendations coming out. I don’t want to be making a recommendation now on public TV. I would want to sit down with the team, take a look at that.”
Here’s my response to the good doctor:
The answer you should have given is “yes.” those of us who have grandparents in nursing homes have been told by people like you that we can’t see them until they are vaccinated. Well, now they are getting vaccinated. Stop changing your mind! You are awful at your job.
What is there to “take a look at?”
According to Yahoo News, “’Once everyone in the household’s fully vaccinated,’ says Dr. Fauci, it’ll be safe to be around them.
Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, says families will ‘ultimately’ be able to visit with grandparents once everyone in the household is fully vaccinated.
A person is ‘fully vaccinated’ after receiving both doses of a two-dose vaccine or one dose of a single-dose vaccine.”
Here is a simple question for the good doctor: Why exactly does everyone need to be vaccinated?
Grandparents who have received the vaccine should be immune from the virus. Sure, they could spread COVID, but then family members could wear masks to protect themselves when they visit.
But then again, I’m no infectious disease expert like the great Fauci.
But, wait a second…I thought masks worked. We were told that we must wear masks even though the science is nebulous at best.
But if a mask won’t protect you even if you’re interacting with someone who’s been vaccinated…isn’t Fauci admitting that masks work without realizing it?
If masks work then people should be able to see their grandparents because they will be protected, right?
This guy is the most overrated American since Joe Namath played quarterback for the New York Jets.
Here is Fauci on masks:
“That’s the reason why we say until we have the overwhelming majority of people vaccinated, and the level of virus is very low, if you’re vaccinated, it would be prudent to wear a mask…
the pandemic arrived in the United States as the country was riven by political divisions in which wearing a mask became a political statement rather than a public health measure.”
Ah, so it is people—mostly conservatives—who didn’t wear masks that accounted for the supposed 500,000 deaths from coronavirus.
Does Fauci know for a fact that all 500,000 people who died weren’t wearing masks? Otherwise, how can he make that claim? Inquiring minds want to know.
Regardless of what Dr. Fauci says, I personally will be visiting my grandparents in a nursing home after they receive their second dose of the vaccine.
The sad truth is that the elderly have a limited number of years left and being forced to live without seeing their loved ones is cruel.
Many of us have already lost a year without being able to see them, and we can never get that time back.
So, no, Dr. Fauci, we aren’t going to listen to you. We are seeing our loved ones again, and that’s all there is to it.
