Report: Trump’s CPAC speech will blast Biden’s immigration policies

Donald Trump is going on the warpath.

The former president is getting ready to give a speech in which he will go after President Joe Biden’s immigration policy, the Washington Examiner reported, citing “a source familiar with Trump’s plans.”

Trump’s keynote address at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Florida, will mark his first major public appearance since leaving the White House on Jan. 20.

The return

Trump’s speech is scheduled for the last day of the event on Feb. 28. The source told the Examiner to “look for the 45th President to take on President Biden’s disastrous amnesty and border policies.”

Biden and his administration have been working to completely undo the Trump administration’s America first immigration policies.

Last week, Biden unveiled a massive immigration reform bill that includes a pathway to citizenship for the 11 to 22 million people currently residing in the United States illegally. He is also inviting those previously deported under the Trump administration back to America to apply for citizenship, provided they have not been convicted of a felony or three misdemeanors.

Former Trump administration adviser Stephen Miller called Biden’s open border agenda “extraordinarily radical.”

“You can’t govern from a position of reactive anger. That’s so poisonous and destructive to basically say, ‘We’re going to do a radical opposite of the Trump administration border security. That’s it. We’re ending border security forever,’” Miller told the Examiner.

The future

The source also said to expect Trump’s speech to address “the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement.”

Since the 2020 election, the divide within the Republican Party is becoming even more contentious, as some GOP politicians continue to support Trump and others have distanced themselves from the former president completely.

According to Politico, Trump is preparing to start screening candidates for the 2022 midterm elections. It appears that Trump will try to ensure that there will be a “MAGA-approved” candidate for every open Republican seat in the 2022 midterms.

Trump has reportedly already been meeting with some Republicans, such as Reps. Steve Scalise (R-LA) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL), but has turned down meetings with other Republican leaders, including former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
