‘I’d rather have people hate me with the knowledge that I tried to save them.’ -Keith Green
Yesterday, I was highlighting the worthlessness of today’s conservatives and how it is that they are, in fact, yesterday’s liberals and have brought the younger generations to the point that we are at in the present (Psalm 78:9). They are controlled opposition who serve their golden calves, the sponsors who make them rich, and not the people (Exodus 32:4).
I was highlighting how men will put off Christ and replace them with a reprobate only to feebly attempt to defend many of these modern-day conservatives without holding to the Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).
This really means that they are merely attempting to be soft on themselves in hopes that the Lord will be soft on them in judgment (Hebrews 9:27). That just isn’t going to happen.
Oh, how they attempt to defend the indefensible. As if to suggest that these are the standard and Christ is not!
“Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.” -Acts 17:31
I am tired of men and women, who claim to be Christ’s, making excuses for other men and their compromises as they make void the commandments of God.
“Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered:” -Mark 7:13
“For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” -Matthew 5:20
These simply hold to fallen and wicked men and use the grace of God as an occasion to the flesh (Galatians 5:13).
They make light of the sacrifice made. If they understood John 3:16, they would tolerate nothing that offends the Prince of Kings (Revelation 1:5).
It offends me in a great way. Gratitude is the mother of holiness (Luke 7:47; 2 Corinthians 7:11).
I also highlighted that I will hold to the Word regardless if men like it or not.
“For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” -Galatians 1:10
I also thought about what Christ said and how we were to keep His commandments, how we were to love one another, and in response to that love that we would be hated by the world, knowing that if it hates us, that it first hated Him (John 15:12-19).
Let me tell you that the ones hating on Christians today are the ones that claim to belong unto Christ (John 19:15). Apparently, they have forgotten that the first prerequisite is to know His Word (John 7:17).
Remember the great reformer, Martin Luther, who stood during his inquisition and stated in the face of the corrupt: “Here I stand, I can do no other.”
One more point to all of this is that Charles Spurgeon, the prince of preachers, said it will be a lonely walk if one wants to be close to the Lord.
George Washington said, “Tis better to be alone, than in bad company.”
I then began to recollect the Scriptures and how Moses had only his brother Aaron, that is, when it was that he was not alone with the Lord (Exodus 24:12).
After all, it was a good thing that Moses did not take a poll before leading the children of Israel into the promised land. If he did, it would never have been accomplished.
King David said that he was a companion of those who feared the Lord and of those that kept His precepts (Psalm 119:63).
I think of Eleazer taking vengeance on the Philistines while the children of Israel turned and ran (2 Samuel 23:10-12).
Elijah stood alone on top of the mountain (1 Kings 19:11-18).
What of Ester, Ruth, Deborah, Samson, Gideon and others? (Hebrews 11:32-35)
There was a Peter and a James and a John (Matthew 17:1).
What of Paul, whom others forsook, but the Lord stood with him (2 Timothy 4:16), and so it is with those who remain steadfast in the faith.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. -1 Corinthians 15:58
And by the grace of God, we will….
