MSNBC Guest: ‘I Wish We Could Just Blow Up All The Trump Buildings’

MSNBC guest Tim Miller said during a segment on “Deadline: White House” that he hopes “all the Trump buildings” will be destroyed after the once-glamorous Trump Plaza casino in Atlantic City was leveled to the ground Wednesday.

The segment: MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace began the segment by expressing her delight in playing a video of the demolition.

“I don’t feel bad playing it … This is the implosion of the Trump property,” said Wallace. “There it goes. Is that a metaphor, Tim? Are we done? Is this Trump and all that he ushered in? Are we done? Is it imploding?”

Wallace noted that the new administration under Joe Biden was tired of talk of his predecessor. “This is not a White House that sort of speaks without thinking. And they’re done talking about Trump,” she said, according to the Daily Caller.

Miller chimed in, saying, “I think that the Biden White House is and should be. And I think that President Biden has done exactly what he promised, and I think it’s worked for him politically, as you pointed out, in the polls. The rest of us aren’t done with him, and I know that’s frustrating,”

He said he wishes “we could just blow up all the Trump buildings” and erase them from Americans’ memories, “‘Men In Black’ style.” Miller was referring to a device used in the hit film franchise called the “neuralyzer” to wipe out a person’s memory with a single flash.

“I’ve heard from folks when I’m firing off tweets about Trump telling me to shut up about it, I wish you’d just be quiet and not talk about him anymore, and I understand that point of view. Everybody wants to move on. I wish we could just blow up all the Trump buildings like that with nobody in them and just kind of erase him from our memory ‘Men In Black’ style, but we can’t,” he said, per the Caller.

The decrepit Trump Plaza was demolished in the early hours of Wednesday after sitting vacant and inoperable on the Atlantic City Boardwalk for more than six years since closing in 2014.

Former President Trump cut ties with the building in 2009 following a series of bankruptcy filings, though the building continued to bear his name until billionaire investor Carl C. Icahn acquired it in 2016.

The end of an era: The hotel-casino was once brimming with activity and was a gathering place of some of the nation’s most iconic celebrities, said the casino’s former manager Bernie Dillon.

“The way we put Trump Plaza and the city of Atlantic City on the map for the whole world was really incredible. Everyone from Hulk Hogan to Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, it was the whole gamut of personalities,” he said. “One night before a Tyson fight, I stopped dead in my tracks and looked about four rows in as the place was filling up, and there were two guys leaning in close and having a private conversation: Jack Nicholson and Warren Beatty.”

“It was like that a lot: You had Madonna and Sean Penn walking in, Barbra Streisand and Don Johnson, Muhammad Ali would be there, Oprah sitting with Donald ringside,” Dillon said. “It was a special time. I’m sorry to see it go.”
