Dominion Voting Systems is a name that has become a “household word” over the past two months, thanks to supporters of President Donald J. Trump, who fault the company for errors in several states in the 2020 Presidential election. The company has filed lawsuits against several influential supporters of Trump over the allegations that the machines were faulty. One target of theirs is Mike Lindell, the foundation of My Pillow.
Law and Crime wrote on Wednesday, “Dominion Voting Systems is planning to imminently” sue MAGA mainstay and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, according to media reports.”
The Daily Beast published an article on Tuesday announcing the “imminent” lawsuit, tossed around by the disgruntled company for weeks.
Lindell has said in numerous interviews with Steve Bannon that he has gotten threats about a lawsuit from the company for weeks, especially since he had released his documentary, “Absolute Proof,” which focuses on what Lindell believes is numerous kinds of voter fraud, but that nothing had been done yet.
Lindell told Bannon and others that he welcomed a lawsuit because it would make his exposure to the company easier since he would find out things in the discovery that it appeared Dominion did not want to be known to the public.
Newsweek reported on the threat to file:
“Dominion Voting Systems has plans to file a defamation lawsuit against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, one month after he urged the company to file suit while refusing to honor a cease and desist letter. Lindell had asked Dominion to “please sue me” after previous legal threats from the company.”
On Tuesday, Dominion lawyer Tom Clare told The Daily Beast that a defamation lawsuit against Lindell would be filed “imminently,” adding that the legal action was being taken after he had “doubled down and tripled down” on his rhetoric while making “himself a higher public profile with his documentary.
As of this time, there is no filing of a lawsuit that can be found.
The Daily Beast posted their exclusive story on Twitter, which looks a lot more like PR for Dominion than anything else:
“Lindell, the founder of the MyPillow company, became a prominent voice and financial backer in attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election and made false allegations that China and others hacked voting machines and swung the 2020 election to Joe Biden.
When reached for comment, Lindell was, characteristically, defiant. “That would so make my day because then they would have to go into discovery, and that would make my job a lot easier,” he said in a phone interview.
”These machines need to be removed, and [these people] brought to justice for what they did to our country in these attacks,” Lindell continued. “If they sue me, I would be so happy.”
It is unclear if the threat of a lawsuit is meant to tire Lindell out after his My Pillow product has been from companies and after he has been de-platformed on social media. If it is, it isn’t working.
Lindell announced on Wednesday that he planned to make more videos. Perhaps Dominion will keep threatening to sue to give The Daily Beast something to write about.
