A bird flu pandemic could be ‘100 times worse than Covid’ and kill up to half of everyone it infects, experts have warned — as the White House says it is ‘monitoring’ the situation.
Speaking at a briefing, virus researchers said the H5N1 strain of bird flu may now be getting ‘dangerously close’ to triggering a pandemic.
Multiple cases of the infection in a variety of mammals, including cows, cats and, more recently, humans, are all raising the risk of the virus mutating to become more transmissible, they said.
Since 2003, 887 people have been diagnosed with the virus, and 462 of those died. Therefore, the World Health Organization has projected the fatality rate for the virus at 52 percent.
John Fulton, a pharmaceutical industry consultant for vaccines and founder of Canada-based pharmaceutical company BioNiagara, who organized the meeting, said, “This appears to be 100 times worse than Covid, or it could be if it mutates and maintains its high case fatality rate. Once it’s mutated to infect humans, we can only hope that the [fatality rate] drops.”
The report quotes Dr Suresh Kuchipudi, a bird flu researcher in Pittsburgh, as saying, “This virus [has been] on the top of the pandemic list for many, many years and probably decades. And now we are getting dangerously close to this virus potentially causing a pandemic.”
“We are not really talking about a virus that is yet to make a jump, we are talking about a virus that is globally present, already infecting a range of mammals and is circulating. So, therefore, in my view, I think this is a virus that has the greatest pandemic threat [that is] playing out in plain sight and is globally present. It is really high time that we are prepared,” Kuchipudi warned.

The media is blasting out alarms, reporting that the virus has spread to the chicken and dairy farms.
“The largest egg producer in the U.S. has shut down production and culled more than 1.5 million chickens after a major bird flu outbreak at a Texas plant. It comes as the highly contagious virus has been found in at least six states among dairy cows,” CBS News reported.

Some people are not buying it.
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) wrote, “Where have we seen this before? U.S. collaborates with China to make bird flu more contagious and transmissible to mammals. Bird flue now discovered in U.S. dairy cattle, transmitted to at least one human being. Knock it off already!”

The media are starting to push this H5N1 avian bird flu, which “experts” now claim has “jumped” into mammals, and now into humans, and could be “100x worse than Covid” (NY Post).
