According to unofficial Border Patrol reports reviewed by Breitbart Texas, the number of migrants illegally crossing the southwest border between ports of entry surpassed the one million mark in less than the first six months of Fiscal Year 24. The milestone puts the Biden administration on pace for more than two million migrant apprehensions for the third consecutive year.
Breitbart Texas reviewed an unofficial Border Patrol report which revealed that the number of migrants apprehended after illegally crossing the U.S. border with Mexico exceeded the one-million mark by March 25th. The apprehension of just over one million migrants during the first six months of Fiscal Year 24, which began on October 1, 2023, falls just shy of the same period last year when agents apprehended nearly 1,057,000 migrants. The pace is also just slightly behind the pace of the record-setting FY22 report — a year that saw the apprehension of more than 2.2 million migrants.
The Tucson Sector continues to lead the nine southwest Border Patrol sectors with the apprehension of approximately 301,000 migrants during the first six months of the year. This is up by more than 167 percent from the same period last year.
Based on the newly-released data from CBP, a total of 189,922 illegal aliens were caught coming across the Southwest border during the month of February.
This brings the total for this fiscal year to 1,151,448, from Oct. 1, 2023 through Feb. 29, 2024.

When comparing apprehension numbers over the duration of the Biden administration, every single month, with the exception of June 2023, shows higher numbers than the same month of the previous year, as the floodgates have opened wider and wider.
Based on nationwide apprehension data, which includes the southern border, northern border, ports of entry and coastal areas, a total of 256,094 foreign nationals from all across the world were caught entering the United States in February alone – enough to equal the population of a major U.S. city – Laredo, Texas.
This brings the total for fiscal year 2024 (Oct. 1, 2023 to Feb. 29, 2024) to a whopping 1,487,195.

In a recent interview with CBS News’ Face The Nation, Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens said what’s keeping him up at night is the 140,000 known gotaways so far this fiscal year.
“What’s keeping me up at night is the 140,000 known gotaways [this fiscal year]…If we don’t know who is coming into our country and we don’t know what their intent is, that is a threat.” –@USBPChief Jason Owens discussing the severe national security threat of Biden’s Border… pic.twitter.com/NlJtoPOsJF

For comparison purposes…
PLEASE NOTE: The Border Patrol only shows the data for the most recent four years on the public information site – but DMLNewsApp has saved the data from the years past, and we will continue to show these comparisons, as this exposes the skyrocketing numbers once the Biden administration took control:
The following post from 2021 shows numbers for fiscal years 2018, 2019 and 2020, which was all during the Trump administration.
In February, CBP encountered 100,441 persons attempting entry along the SW border. This is a 28% increase over January.
