Trump Denies Inquiry Into Mount Rushmore Addition, But Says ‘A Good Idea’

President Trump has denied a New York Times report that the White House inquired about getting his face carved into Mount Rushmore – though he says it “sounds like a good idea.”

The Times reported that an official approached South Dakota governor Kristi Noem (R) in 2019 to ask about the “official process” for adding a president to the 80-year-old monument.

In a Sunday tweet, Trump dismissed the report as “fake news,” tweeting “Never suggested it although, based on all of the many things accomplished during the first 3 1/2 years, perhaps more than any other Presidency, sounds like a good idea to me!
