White House And Democrats Might Be On The Verge Of Abandoning COVID Aid Deal

The following article, White House And Democrats Might Be On The Verge Of Abandoning COVID Aid Deal, was first published on Flag And Cross.

Top Trump administration officials spoke out Thursday evening stating that they are on the edge of potentially abandoning any efforts to create some sort of bipartisan coronavirus aid package unless the Democrats involved in negotiations take important steps toward reaching a compromise by Friday.

The problem here is that Democrats are trying to take advantage of the current coronavirus pandemic and the need for these aid packages in order to push through their socialist wish list and get policies passed that otherwise wouldn’t be given the time of day.

Say what you will about liberals, but never forget they are the ultimate political opportunists.

Here is what you need to know via The Washington Examiner:

“We are not going to just keep on coming back every day if we can’t get to a deal,” Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said after a nearly three-hour meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. “Schumer and Pelosi are in discussions right now on whether it’s worth coming back.”

Pelosi called the meeting “consequential” but said it “reinforced” that Republicans and the White House “don’t understand the gravity of the situation.”

The two sides are trillions of dollars apart on a deal. Democrats are seeking a broad $3.4 trillion aid package, while Republicans are aiming for a package worth roughly $1 trillion. Democrats have been negotiating with Trump officials for nearly two weeks, without much advancement toward a compromise.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has called the GOP package “anorexic,” stating that both sides are “very far apart.” Well, yes, of course you’re far apart. Rather than wanting to help Americans get through this tough ordeal, leftists are trying to take advantage of a crisis and use it as leverage to transform this country into a socialist nightmare.

Both Mnuchin and Meadows have stated that if there is no significant compromised reached by Friday, the president would then move to take executive action. Trump has been said to be eager to extend federal unemployment insurance, which is something that expired at the end of July. He’s also eager to implement a payroll tax cut among other actions that will help ease the suffering of small businesses.

This, folks, is a president who wants to get things done, being hampered by liberals who just want to play politics.
