Vice President Kamala Harris got “Community Noted” all the way back to San Francisco in the early 2000s when she took advantage of 420 Day to plug legal weed.
“Nobody should have to go to jail for smoking weed. We must continue to change our nation’s approach to marijuana while reforming the justice system so it finally lives up to its name,” Harris tweeted while promoting a similar quote from President Biden.
While it’s understandable that legal weed is a great get-out-the-vote mechanism for otherwise uninformed young people who are more apt to vote for a Democrat because of the party’s stranglehold on pop culture, the vice president had quite the gall to parrot the remark given her track record as a former prosecutor — a gig then-Mayor Willie Brown, her married boyfriend at the time, helped secure.
Community Notes weighed in to say, “As district attorney, Kamala Harris oversaw 1,900 marijuana convictions, some of which resulted in jail time.”

And there was this indelible moment from the 2020 Democratic presidential primary, of course:

Here’s a quick sampling of other responses to the bold hypocrisy Harris served up, as seen on X:
She probably forgot about community notes again

When Kamala Harris was District Attorney in San Francisco from 2004 to 2010, she won more than 1,900 marijuana convictions.
Her time in office is represented in red.
She also fought against a ballot measure for recreational pot in 2010.

The same woman that intentionally kept Black men in prison for weed to profit from their slave labor is now trying to pull the Black vote by saying no one should go to jail for smoking weed.
She knows she’s a lying hypocrite. Liberals/Democrats know she’s a lying hypocrite.
