A Colorado paraprofessional has been hit with felony assault charges for allegedly abusing multiple non-verbal children with special needs on several occasions, with at least two of the disturbing incidents being caught on camera.
Kiarra Jones, 29, was employed with Littleton Public Schools as a bus assistant from the summer of 2023 until she was fired on March 19 — the same day she allegedly assaulted a ten-year-old boy for the last time, reports CPR News.
Video footage that the bus’s internal cameras captured that day shows Jones elbowing the special needs child in his torso and shoulders before violently stomping on his foot.
Trending Politics co-owner Collin Rugg shared the following details:
Colorado paraprofessional Kiarra Jones arrested for assaulting children with disabilities. This makes my blood boil.
Jones worked as a bus aide to help children with autism and other disabilities travel between school and their homes. Newly released footage shows Jones punching and stomping a disabled 10-year-old boy.
Three families are now taking action against Jones, claiming they started noticing behavioral changes from their children about 6 months ago. They also noticed physical injuries including scratches, bruises, a lost tooth, broken toe, black eye, and other bruises.
Jones was arrested on April 4 after surveillance footage showed her hitting a student in the abdomen and mouth.

The report explains that Jessica Vestal called the police when her son came home covered in bruises. When an investigation was launched, it was discovered that Jones had abused the child before, and video footage from another incident on February 13 shows Jones hitting the child in the mouth with her closed fist, hitting him with the backside of her hand, repeatedly poking his face, and yanking his hair.
Additional video footage shows Jones abusing other special needs children as well.
The parents are outraged, because they trusted Jones to care for their children.
“I literally bought her Christmas presents at Christmastime and tea when she wasn’t feeling good. It’s disgusting, and every day, it was, ‘Oh, you guys are my favorite family on the bus’…It’s sick. It’s insane, but he’s safe now,” Vestal said.
However, the report notes that Jones, who was charged with one count of third-degree assault on an at risk person, has already posted bond and was freed from the county jail. She is next scheduled to appear in court on May 3.
