Fani Willis crossed yet another line.
The Fulton County district attorney is quickly becoming a political liability for the Democrat Party.
And now Fani Willis picked one fight with Jim Jordan that is risking jail time.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) launched an investigation into Willis over misuse of federal funds.
A female whistleblower came forward to the committee with allegations that Willis fired her after she brought to Willis’ attention that one of her campaign aides planned to allegedly divert federal funds for a youth violence prevention center for personal use in the form of purchasing laptops and vacations.
The whistleblower – who according to the Washington Free Beacon recorded her conversations with Willis – said Willis initially expressed support, but then fired her and had armed guards march her out of the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office.
Willis has so far refused to comply with Jordan’s demands for documents.
In a letter responding to Jordan’s document request, Willis claimed her office complied as much as possible.
“[W]e have already provided you with substantial information about our programs that are funded via federal grants,” Willis ranted.
“Your primary complaint appears to be that we did not complete the production of your extension document demands (including five categories of documents over a four-year period) in less than two months. That demand is unreasonable and uncustomary and would require this government office to divert resources from our primary purpose of prosecuting crime,” Willis added.
Willis laughably claimed she couldn’t shut down her office to meet Jordan’s document request because it would distract from vital work of prosecuting violent crimes.
Critics contend Willis is already doing that by pursuing her political vendetta against Donald Trump for made-up crimes.
“We will not shut down this office’s efforts to prosecute crimes — including gang activity, acts of violence and public corruption — to meet unreasonable deadlines in your politically motivated ‘investigation’ of this office,” Willis added.
Willis also got one last dig in smearing Jordan as a racist as Democrats now think any time someone criticizes them it’s akin to inciting violence.
“[L]et me state this clearly: nothing that you do will derail the efforts of my staff and I to bring the election interference prosecution to trial so that a jury of Fulton County citizens can determine the guilt or innocence of the defendants,” Willis concluded. “My family, my staff and I have been threatened repeatedly by people making violent, often racist, attacks.”
If Willis continues to stonewall, Jordan could vote to hold her in contempt of Congress.
Willis is already facing allegations she perjured herself in a disqualification hearing to remove her from the Trump case.
Another criminal referral would create a second sideshow that would further expose Willis to scrutiny over her conduct and motivations as a prosecutor.
