CBS uses poll data from 2019 to try to prove American Pride is low in 2020

New York, NY – On Saturday, CBS News ran an article that claimed the headline “American pride falls to record low.” Author Sophie Lewis uses the opportunity to say that only 70% of Americans are proud of their country amid the coronavirus pandemic and Black Lives Matter movement.

The poll cited by Lewis as part of her article is from a 2019 Gallup poll. The poll was published on July 2, 2019, by Gallup and is not a reflection of patriotism amid the current events as Lewis would like to insinuate. There are some key points in the data that Gallup shares in their 2020 poll, however.

The 2020 data was released in June, and CBS did not look for that information before running their article. In the latest poll, Republican pride is essentially equivalent to that of the last couple years of the Obama administration. This makes sense being that we were dealing with the Black Lives Matter movement at that time in our country as well.

Independent pride is holding steady while Democrats pride in our country is still at a dismal 24%. Democrats have not been over 50% since the beginning of the second Obama term.

Gallup also makes an interesting note as far as some key demographics. Those who are extremely proud among white Americans sits at 49% while among non-white Americans, it sits at 24%. Another interesting point is that extremely proud among those who are 65 and older sits at 53% while those who are 18-29 sits at just 20%.

If you cannot see the clear issue here, let me explain. The issue is not that American pride does not exist. Those who are 65 and older were born before 1955. These are people that have been around for a long time and see how great our country has been. They have been through a lot of things in our country’s past.

Those who are unhappy are recent high school and college graduates, or Americans that are starting out in their careers. Not all in this age range are unhappy, but the overwhelming majority are.

This group has been brainwashed and force-fed socialist lies. When they hear the words freedom, and the Land of the Free, their eyes light up and they think about all sorts of free things. Democrats have told them that they deserve free education, free housing, free income, free jobs, all because they are American.

In the older demographic, you have Americans that understand it takes hard work and commitment to achieve the American dream. They realize that nothing comes free, freedom always has a price. They are thankful for those who paid that price and gave them their freedom.

Americans all over the country will read the garbage from CBS News and believe the lies. Too many people will not look closely at the numbers and will just read the headlines. Many will do the same with this article and never pay attention to the details.

Those details are that we have the tale of two generations in our country. We have a generation who loves our nation, and a generation who wants to tear it down and destroy it. We have a generation that is proud to be American, and a generation who cringes at the thought of having to work for their freedom.

Not all Americans that are 18-29 years old hate our country. Not all Americans 65 and older love our country. These details certainly teach you the difference in values across America. Now, more than ever, we need to realize how amazingly blessed we are to live in this amazing country. God has truly blessed us, whether we realize it or not.
