Big Tech Purge Censors Trump and Conservatives

A Big Tech purge occurred on June 29th, when Twitch, Youtube, and Reddit all banned several conservative figures from their platforms or used other methods to censor them.

The platforms all took part in censoring conservatives on Monday when Twitch temporarily suspended President Trump’s campaign, Youtube Banned Canadian Philosopher/Political Commentator Stefan Molyneux, and Reddit removed r/thedonald, a forum about President Trump. All of these events occurred within a few hours of each other, some within minutes.

“Hateful conduct is not allowed on Twitch. In line with our policies, President Trump’s channel has been issued a temporary suspension from Twitch for comments made on stream, and the offending content has been removed,” said a Twitch rep. according to Business Insider.

Twitch cited “hateful conduct” in its takedown of President Trump’s campaign channel. Not directly affiliated with President Trump was r/thedonald, which Reddit CEO claimed “antagonized us and other communities,” according to The Verge. Reddit also banned several other non-conservative subreddits as well.

This comes shortly after Gavin McInnes, Conservative Commentator and founder of the Proud Boys, was banned from Youtube on the 22nd.
