How ugly are Joe Biden’s poll numbers? As ugly as a butt-naked granny, just take it from James Carville, a razor-tongued devil who has a unique way with words.
The veteran political strategist let loose in a New York Times interview with Maureen Dowd, with the “Ragin’ Cajun” serving up his red hot takes on the upcoming election, Biden and Trump, and the problem with his beloved Democratic party which he says is dominated by too many “preachy females,” an apropos description that’s now likely to go over well with many.
Normally a foul-mouthed, uncouth lout, the 79-year-old Carville dialed it down a notch for his conversation with the columnist whose shaming of Biden finally forced him to acknowledge the existence of Hunter Biden’s lovechild, little Navy Joan Roberts last year.
James Carville recoils at Biden’s polls and a potential Trump win. But he hasn’t soured on the president. “He’s a tenacious guy that’s had a real life,” he tells @maureendowd. “He doesn’t have an iota of elitism. He doesn’t even know what ‘woke’ is.”

After he filled the columnist in on the new documentary that’s being made about him, he lamented the change in the way that modern political campaigns are run.
“It’s not like it used to be, where everybody would have these huge media scrums with hundreds of reporters and local news,” he said. “The latest fad is campaigns unionizing. Who the hell ever wanted to work on a campaign that didn’t want to work on a Sunday? It was a sprint to the end.”
Carville staked his claim to fame on his work for the 1992 campaign of underdog Bill Clinton, who with some timely help from third-party candidate Ross Perot, toppled President George H.W. Bush who only a year before, enjoyed a stunning 89 percent approval rating during Gulf War I, the highest in history at the time.
But thanks to Perot siphoning off votes and his famous bumper sticker slogan “It’s the economy stupid,” Bill and Hillary took up residence in the White House and Carville has been a fixture in television studios for three decades now.
Dowd wrote of Carville’s disdain for the virtue-signaling garbage of today, complaining that the “woke stuff is killing us,” and that leftists are “talking in a language that ordinary Americans did not understand” by using terms like “Latinx” and “communities of color,” whit a “sneering” tone that turns off many voters with one example being Mrs. Clinton’s infamous “basket of deplorables” trashing of Trump supporters.
“There are a lot of people on the left that would rather lose and be pure because it makes them feel good, it makes them feel superior,” he said of the Supreme Court’s aborting of Roe v. Wade last summer.
One of his concerns is the growing exodus of blacks who are finally beginning to flee the Democrat plantation.
“I actually like Biden. He’s a tenacious guy that’s had a real life. He’s a state school guy. He doesn’t have an iota of elitism. He doesn’t even know what ‘woke’ is. He’s been demonstrably the best president that black America’s ever had, Clinton and Obama included. You look at incomes, employment, poverty rates, access to health care. It’s not where whites are, but it’s closer than it’s ever been,” he said.
He also took a shot at the bossy feminists who are alienating male voters.
“A suspicion of mine is that there are too many preachy females” who dominate the party culture. “‘Don’t drink beer. Don’t watch football. Don’t eat hamburgers. This is not good for you.’ The message is too feminine: ‘Everything you’re doing is destroying the planet. You’ve got to eat your peas,” not mentioning that one of those “preachy” women is named Hillary.
“If you listen to Democratic elites — NPR is my go-to place for that — the whole talk is about how women, and women of color, are going to decide this election. I’m like: ‘Well, 48 percent of the people that vote are males. Do you mind if they have some consideration?’” Carville said.
“When I look at these polling numbers, it’s like walking in on your grandma naked. You can’t get the image out of your mind,” he said of Biden’s dismal numbers which aren’t getting any better with a just-released CNN poll showing him being clobbered by Trump in Michigan, a state where he is facing a Muslim mutiny led by Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) over the lack of a ceasefire in Gaza.
“He ought to tell Bibi Netanyahu to shut his stupid pie hole.” Carville said of the Israeli leader, “He’s got to understand how much money the United States has sent to Israel during his prime ministership.”
“I don’t think he can do much more than soldier on and let the Democratic groups kick in,” Carville shrugged, suggesting that the cavalry is coming soon.
