Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis keeps taking hits on the legal front as she pursues her case against former President Donald Trump.
According to Breitbart, the latest drama surrounding the DA involves the Justice Department announcing they’ve found “inconsistencies” in her use of federal grant funds, possibly opening a whole new can of legal worms for Willis to deal with.
The findings also confirm previous claims by a whistleblower who came forward with the information earlier this year.
Not surprisingly, that particular whistleblower had been fired by Willis.
What’s going on?
At issue is $488,000 of federal grant money, which the whistleblower claimed was used by Willis and her office to for “swag, computers, and travel.”
The large chunk of federal funds was earmarked for the creation of a Center for Youth Empowerment and Gang Prevention in Atlanta, Breitbart reported. Obviously, the money didn’t go toward that initiative as it should have, as the center never opened.
Breitbart noted:
The Justice Department is coordinating with Willis’s office to fix the grant reporting “inconsistencies” amid an ongoing House Judiciary Committee investigation into Willis’s use of federal grant funds.
The Department of Justice didn’t elaborate on the details of the reported “inconsistencies,” which also wasn’t surprising to many.
House Republican leader Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) asked if the funds might have been used in the investigation into former President Donald Trump. That has been suggested by others before, and again, could be a massive legal conflict of interest if proven to be true.
Were any federal funds used in Fani Willis’s investigation of President Trump?
Were any federal funds MISUSED?
Something isn’t adding up here.
And taxpayers deserve answers. https://t.co/LEAkKzzCCC

DOJ admits it
The Justice Department confirmed the findings in a statement to the Washington Free Beacon on Friday.
“During our review of the award to respond to this inquiry, we have noticed some inconsistencies in what Fulton County has reported to [the Federal Subaward Reporting System] and we are working with them to update their reporting accordingly,” a DOJ spokesperson said.
Willis narrowly escaped being thrown off of the Trump case after her affair with former prosecutor Nathan Wade became a high-profile court drama.
Only time will tell what investigators uncover next. Many believe that Willis’ case against Trump has taken a massive credibility hit, to say the least.
