What else can go wrong in 2020? How about a landslide that took eight homes into the sea in Norway.

A landslide spanning more than 2,000 feet in length and 500 feet high took eight homes into the sea in northern Norway on Wednesday afternoon, Forbes reported.

What are the details?

The landslide occurred on the western side of Kråkneset in Alta, the magazine said, adding that one person was evacuated from a nearby property, and there were no reports of injuries.

One resident said he heard a bang in the loft of his cabin and thought someone was inside, Forbes reported, adding that when he figured out what actually was happening, “I ran for my life.”

Many of the destroyed structures are holiday homes which likely would have been fully occupied during the public holiday just 48 hours prior, Forbes said.

Several smaller landslides occurred in the hours following the main incident, the magazine reported, citing local media reports. Anders Bjordal, district engineer with the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate, warned that additional land movement is likely in the next few days, Forbes said.
