The nominees for the presidential elections are set.
Now all that’s left is to round out the ticket with the running-mate selection.
And this major TV star had a secret meeting about being vice president.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. could be the true wildcard in this election.
It’s unclear who Kennedy will take votes away from.
Democrats worry that third-party candidates on the ballot will allow voters who voted for Joe Biden in 2020, but soured on his performance in office due to inflation and open borders, to find a safe harbor to cast a protest vote.
A Fox News poll out of Pennsylvania has warning signs for Donald Trump as a two-point lead over Biden turns into a tie race with Kennedy winning 13 percent of the vote if his name is included on the ballot.
Kennedy’s strong stand against the COVID vaccine and mandates could provide an outlet for a protest vote against Trump.
But to get on the ballot in Pennsylvania and 23 other states, Kennedy needs to name a running mate.
And one candidate under consideration is former “Dirty Jobs”host Mike Rowe.
Rowe told NBC when someone like RFK Jr. wants to meet with you about a position like serving as the vice-presidential nominee, you take the meeting out of respect.
“The bottom line is, when a serious person who’s willing to throw themselves into this meat grinder taps you on the shoulder and says, ‘Hey, I would really like you to consider this. Would you?’” Rowe stated. “You take the meeting.”
Rowe said they discussed a laundry list of issues and Rowe repeatedly told Kennedy he’s likely not his guy as Rowe opposes the Green New Deal and supports capitalism.
“The funny thing through all of it was I, I must have reminded him a dozen times that I’m probably not your guy,” Rowe added. “We don’t agree on this. We don’t agree on that. Look, I’m in business with people in the energy business who he’s sued multiple times over the years. And he laughed and said, ‘Yeah, I know that. I just don’t believe I’m going to find anyone who agrees with me on every single thing. And I really like what you stand for.’”
In the past, Rowe has opposed raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour saying those types of jobs are designed just to get Americans on the economic ladder and not to be a career destination.
Rowe also slammed Nike for going woke and removing Betsy Ross flag-themed sneakers after Colin Kaepernick objected to the flag.
Kennedy revealed he offered the vice-presidential slot to a candidate who accepted, and Kennedy will announce that person on March 26 in Oakland.
And it doesn’t sound like Mike Rowe was the selection.
