President Joe Biden pledged to “move heaven and earth” to repair the collapsed Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore last Wednesday.
During a press conference, the 81-year-old president seems to have many “memories” on the bridge as he tells reporters that he happens to pass by the bridge “many, many times” as he “commutes” from Delaware via train.
Oddly, there was no rail line on the bridge.
“At about 1:30 [a.m. Tuesday], a container ship struck the Francis Scott Key Bridge, which I’ve been over many, many times commuting from the state of Delaware either on a train or by car,” the president quipped.
“I’ve been to Baltimore Harbor many times.”
This incident compounds Biden’s series of gaffes in the past years and further strengthens former special counsel Robert Hur’s report regarding his memory.
Furthermore, Biden announced that the federal government would entirely pay for the bridge reconstruction.
“We’re going to get it up and running again as soon as possible. 15,000 jobs depend on that port, and we’re going to do everything we can to protect those jobs,” Biden told reporters at the White House.
“It’s my intention that the federal government will pay for the entire cost of reconstructing that bridge, and I expect the Congress to support my effort,” Biden added.
“The people of Baltimore can count on us to stick with them at every step of the way.”
Biden, the oldest president, has a long history of making up stories and inserting himself into various tragedies and incidents.
During a speech in New York City to commemorate the 9/11 attack, Biden claimed he saw a fireball after an airplane crashed into the Pentagon in Northern Virginia from Washington’s Union Station.
“Ground Zero in New York—I remember standing there the next day and looking at the building. And I felt like I was looking through the gates of hell,” Biden told US troops in Anchorage, Alaska, on the 22nd anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
However, his autobiography contradicted his statements, as the book says he merely saw “a brown haze of smoke.”
In his book, “Promises to Keep,” Biden says that he arrived in Washington on September 11, 2001, and all he could see was a “brown haze of smoke hanging in the otherwise crystal-clear sky beyond the Capitol dome.”
There was no account of his trip to Ground Zero.
Biden also received backlash on social media for his blunders.
One X user remarked, “Does this creep ever tell the truth?”
“Please, @JoeBiden, highlight the rail line,” asked an X user.
Thomas McHale said, “It’s what a pathological liar does.”
Raging Patriot co-founder Nicholas Pagnotta blasted Biden, saying, “This guy is full of sh*t!”
