Hollywood celebrities usually line up to endorse the Democrat in every election.
This year is different.
And the biggest star in Hollywood just made this stunning 2024 endorsement decision.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is the biggest movie star in the world.
Johnson’s roles in “Fast & Furious,” “Jumanji,” “Moana” and Disney’s “Jungle Cruise” made Johnson the most bankable action star in Hollywood.
“The Rock” is also one of the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling and ahead of Johnson’s main event in WWE’s WrestleMania in Philadelphia, Johnson sat down for an interview with Fox News’ Will Cain.
Cain asked Johnson about how he endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the 2020 election and if he is happy about where America is four years later.
Johnson admitted he regrets the endorsement as things haven’t improved and he’s not happy.
“Am I happy with the state of America right now? Well, that answer’s no,” Johnson stated.
But Johnson said he’s an optimist who believes America’s best days are still ahead.
Johnson told Cain that in 2020 he thought he had a massive platform and would use it to influence the election, but that this year he wouldn’t be endorsing Joe Biden.
“Do I believe we’re going to get better? I believe in that. I’m an optimistic guy, and I believe we can get better. The endorsement that I made years ago with Biden was one I thought was the best decision for me at that time. And I thought back then, when we talk about, ‘Hey, you know, I’m in this position, where I have some influence and it’s my job’ then, I felt like that then, it’s my job now to exercise my influence and share with, ‘this is who I’m going to endorse.’ Am I going to do that again this year? That answer’s no. I’m not going to do that,” Johnson continued.
Johnson said in 2020 he felt like the country was divided – which it was thanks to the left’s unending procession of hoaxes to remove Trump from office as well as support for the Black Lives Matter riots – and that he could make a difference by virtue of being the most famous actor in the world.
“Because what I realized, and I didn’t realize it back then, Will, but I realize it today, and back then, just like I am today, very lucky. I was then the most followed American man in the world, and I am today the most followed American man in the world. And I appreciate that. But I also realize that what that caused back then was something that tears me up in my guts, back then and now, which is division. And that got me. And I didn’t realize it then. I just thought, ‘Hey, our country feels like there’s a lot of unrest. It feels like I would like things to calm down. Maybe we need a change. This is what I’m going to do and this is who I’m going to endorse,’” Johnson added.
But Johnson realized endorsing Joe Biden just added to the division and that the best thing he could do this time is stay out of politics and support whoever wins the election.
“The takeaway after that, months and months and months, I started to realize like, oh man, that caused an incredible amount of division in our country. So I realize now going into this election, I’m not going to do that. I wouldn’t do that because my goal is to bring our country together. I believe in that, in my DNA. So in the spirit of that, there’s going to be no endorsement. Not that I’m afraid of it at all, but it’s just I realize that this level of influence I’m gonna keep my politics to myself, and I think it’s between me and the ballot box. But I will tell you this: While, like a lot of us out there, not trusting of all politicians, I do trust the American people. And I trust that whoever they vote for, that’s going to be my president. And that’s who I’m going to support 100 percent,” Johnson concluded.
Johnson’s statement could be construed as him realizing the winds are shifting and Trump stands a good chance of winning the election.
And Johnson knows that putting himself in opposition to Trump is a good way to alienate Trump voters and cause them not to buy tickets to his next movie.
