Many supporters of Israel counter the anti-Semitic falsehoods being spewed by many on Facebook following the Oct. 7th attack. This has led to many posts being falsely flagged for Hate Speech and accounts suspended for months and eventually removed permanently. Attempts to contact Facebook repeatedly to restore the account, filing written appeals to show that the posts did not violate any rules, are met with deafening silence.
Here is a first hand account.
Facebook Censors Hamas Opponents
April 11, 2024:
In the wake of the horrific Oct. 7th Massacre that Hamas inflicted upon Israel it did not take long for Islamists and their Leftist allies to come out and start condemning Israel’s response. In fact, within a matter of days they took to the streets and social media and began following the path of Holocaust deniers, launching a vicious campaign that sought to downplay the horrific nature of the massacre and in some cases, outright denying many of the atrocities that were committed by Hamas. Social media networks such as Facebook allowed these campaigners to spew their venom unhindered, but anti-Hamas individuals like “Stephen” were not so lucky.
Alarmed at the amount of pro-Hamas and anti-Semitic material that was flooding Facebook in the aftermath of the Oct. 7th Massacre, Stephen began posting material to counter the venomous lies. Material included statements from Hamas defector Mosab Hassan Yousef who has warned us for years, most recently on an episode of Dr. Phil, that Hamas cares nothing for the Palestinian people. Other material included a cartoon of Hamas using their own people as human shields, a photo of Reem Riyashi who was a female suicide bomber that killed four Israelis at Erez crossing on Jan. 14, 2004 as well as a photograph of Adolf Hitler with Haj Amin al-Husseini, the former Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who openly allied with Hitler in World War II and aided him in carrying the Final Solution. Stephen’s only purpose was to show Israeli critics that Hamas not only cared nothing about their people, but that the Jihadists of the region launched their campaign to murder the Jews before the modern state of Israel was even established, and that they were willing to ally themselves with one of the most notorious men in history in order to do this.
Facebook would ultimately flag all of these posts for “violating community standards” and remove them, but they didn’t stop there. When Stephen refused to be silenced and continued to post, Facebook would ultimately suspend his account. Stephen’s account has now been suspended for over 40 days and it could quite possibly be removed permanently. What “standard” did he violate? Is speaking the truth a “violation of Facebook’s standards?” This suspension for posting anti-Hamas photos should serve as a warning to everyone in the West that the Jihadist-Leftist alliance is actively infiltrating every aspect of society, much like the Nazis did in the 1930’s. First the Nazis gradually gained control of the press & universities, then, much like Facebook, they used coercion and force to silence their opponents. Once they had full power, they simply arrested them, which is what they seek to do now as they’re pushing for the passage of “hate crime” laws all across the West, which are in truth, laws designed to silence their opponents.
Some of Stephen’s critics, while sympathetic to what he did, told him that he should have stopped making the posts he did after being flagged so many times, that had he done so, he could have avoided the suspension. However, Stephen countered their argument with this: “From 1942-1943 a group of Germans formed a non-violent resistance group call the White Rose, which secretly spread leaflets exposing & denouncing the regime. They were ultimately captured and executed. Today, they’re hailed as heroes. However, it’s one thing to look back 50 years and applaud somebody for speaking against tyranny when it had taken over their society, but it’s something else entirely to be that kind of person when tyranny takes over your own society. They did not allow themselves to be intimidated into silence, and if I’m to truly honor what they did, then I cannot allow myself to be coerced into silence either.” We have to keep fighting the Jihadist-Leftist tyrants who try to silence us, whether on college campuses, on the streets, in the government, or in social media. Don’t be silent, don’t be intimidated, and don’t stop fighting back.
