The dean at UC Berkeley Law School likely regrets his decision to invite students to dinner at his home after some pro-Hamas miscreants turned on him and his wife.
Dean Erwin Chemerinsky – who is Jewish – learned a lesson about extending his hospitality and opening his home to fanatics when the congratulatory dinner was rudely interrupted by a militant leftist who spoiled the occasion by launching into a speech about the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and refused to leave.
Video of the disrespectful incident that took place at the dean’s home in Oakland was posted to social media where it went viral as his wife, Berkeley Law professor Catherine Fisk is seen tussling with the female student who’s clad in a head scarf and trying to wrestle her phone away.
For months, disruptive anti-Israel protests have been targeting students for abuse and even violence on college campuses. Now, they’ve targeted UC Berkeley Dean Erwin Chemerinsky in his home.

Chemerinsky is also seen pleading with the terrorist supporter to leave which she refused to do.
“Please leave. No. Please leave. Please leave,” the 70-year-old dean is heard telling the student, identified as Malak Afaneh, a campus radical and co-president of Berkeley Law Students for Justice in Palestine who claimed that she had a right to be on their property as a disruptive influence because of the First Amendment.
The student is claiming that she was assaulted by Fisk in a move typical for leftists who hide behind the laws to play the victim when they are infringing upon the rights of others.
Prior to the incident, anti-Israel students posted propaganda of Chemerinsky in an antisemitic trope with the words, “No dinner with Zionist Chem while Gaza starves,” depicting the dean with a fork and knife.

“The students responsible for this had the leaders of our student government tell me that if we did not cancel the dinners, they would protest at them. I was sad to hear this, but made clear that we would not be intimidated and that the dinners would go forward for those who wanted to attend. I said that I assumed that any protest would not be disruptive,” Dean Chemerinsky said in a statement.
“I have spent my career staunchly defending freedom of speech. I have spent my years as dean trying hard to create a warm, inclusive community. I am deeply saddened by these events and take solace that it is just a small number of our students who would behave in such a clearly inappropriate manner,” he added.
Chemerinsky further discussed the incident with Jake Tapper during an appearance on Thursday’s edition of “The Lead” on CNN.

Not unexpectedly, the local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) sided with the troublemaker and accused the dean’s wife of a racist assault.
“Fisk’s assault was a symbol of the deeper Islamophobia, anti-Palestinian racism and religious discrimination that runs rampant within the UC administration. I was attacked not only for speaking about Palestine but also because I was a Muslim woman who dared to wear a hijab and a keffiyeh and speak in my native tongue of Arabic, equating my identity with something that should be feared and someone who deserved to be silenced,” CAIR-SFBA Executive Director Zahra Billoo said in a statement.
“It is concerning to see his and Professor Fisk’s violent response to a student speaking out against the Israeli genocide in Palestine. It is reprehensible for UC Berkeley to claim to champion free speech while its leaders commit such deplorable acts of physical censorship,” Billoo added.
