Liberals spent more than a decade trying to destroy Chick-fil-A.
The left hates that the franchise chain’s founder put his Christian values into practice for his business.
And now Chick-fil-A just found itself in a nasty fight with this woke competitor.
Chick-fil-A famously closes on Sundays due to founder S. Truett Cathy wanting to keep the Sabbath Day holy due to his Christian faith.
Liberals tried to destroy Chick-fil-A in 2012 when CEO Dan Cathy opposed homosexual marriage in a radio interview, saying, “I think we are inviting God’s judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, ‘We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage.’ I pray God’s mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about.”
Democrats tried to kill the company with a boycott but millions of Americans lined up for hours at their local Chick-fil-A in response to thwart the boycott.
Now Chick-fil-A is facing new broadside against its Christian values as New York-based burger chain Shake Shack is trying to edge into the chicken sandwich market with a new public relations campaign based solely around the fact that it’s open on Sundays.
“Here at Shake Shack, we pride ourselves on our Chicken Shack which is available 7 days a week,” a Shake Shack press release read.
“With crispy, white-meat chicken breast over lettuce, pickles, and buttermilk herb mayo on a toasted potato bun, this sandwich outshines its competition. And what makes our Chicken Shack even better, is that it’s made with antibiotic-free chicken, something not everyone can say these days…” the release continued.
“Eat More Antibiotic-Free Chicken,” the release concluded in a rib on Chick-fil-A over their “Eat Mor Chikin” tag line.
Chick-fil-A loses over $1 billion a year by closing every Sunday.
Keeping the doors shut and the lights off so Christians can spend the day honoring the Lord isn’t some marketing gimmick.
These are the deeply held beliefs of Chick-fil-A’s founders.
To liberals, Christian beliefs are a source of mockery as the increasingly secular left prefers to ridicule Americans of faith as people who “believe in ghosts.”
That condescending attitude drips through in Shake Shack’s marketing plan to induce Americans to ditch Chick-fil-A and eat their chicken sandwiches.
Catholics and Christians know the left – which controls every major institution in America – treats them as societal outcasts and barely even tolerates the idea of expressing their faith for one hour a week on Sundays.
That’s why so many Americans of faith rallied to Chick-fil-A’s side during the first attempt to cancel the chain in 2012.
And it’s why this attempt by Shake Shack to ridicule the fact that Chick-fil-A is closed on Sundays won’t work either.
