The first picture of Kate Middleton shared publicly since her abdominal surgery in January shows her looking healthy with her three children, but raised more questions than it answered, namely, why isn’t she wearing her wedding ring?
The Instagram post on @princeandprincessofwales was to commemorate Mother’s Day in the UK, but was also probably meant to reassure a public worried that Kate is on death’s door because she hasn’t been seen in months. The photo was captioned, “Thank you for your kind wishes and continued support over the last two months,” read her statement. “Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day. C.”
That worry will now shift to worries that she may be seeking to divorce Prince William, who was not in the picture (but why would he be?).
According to Kensington Palace, Prince William took the picture that was featured on Instagram, so it’s not like he wasn’t there. The couple have three children: George, Charlotte, and Louis.
Kate normally has worn her wedding ring, but there could be reasons why she isn’t wearing it, such as inflammation from the surgery. Maybe she sent it out to get cleaned, or maybe it was digitally altered.
Numerous photo agencies suspect the latter and have issued a kill notice not to use it for that reason.
