Police are investigating a fire outside of the entrance to Sen. Bernie Sanders‘s (I-VT) office on Church Street in Burlington, Vermont.
Sprinkler and fire alarm systems on the third floor of the building were activated when Burlington police arrived on the scene at 10:45 a.m. There was a fire in the vestibule between the elevator and the entrance.
The fire was put out, and no injuries were reported, according to a press release from the Burlington Police Department.
Police said the door to Sanders’ office was damaged by the fire, and the third floor of the building “sustained significant water damage.”
