Ukraine, Ukraine, Ukraine.
It’s out of the mouths of democrats every day. They spam X with it. They’re far more concerned with the border security of Ukraine than they are the borders of the US. No one does more of that spamming than do the Vindman boys, Alexander and Eugene. You almost get the feeling that these two came to the US and infiltrated the military solely for the purposes of furthering the aspirations of Ukraine over those of the US. Together they conspired against Donald Trump and wound up being key players in Trump’s impeachment. They professed to be all upset about a call Trump made to Zelenskyy. Alex was listening in and he later reported that he “was worried about the implications for the U.S. Government’s support of Ukraine.” He then told his brother about the call and the two then made sure to create a situation which saw Trump impeached. Inexplicably, this Vindman had no such concerns when Joe Biden was extorting Ukraine for a billion dollars to shut down an investigation closing in on Hunter Biden.
Their contribution to Trump’s 2020 electoral loss is part of the story of how democrats screwed Ukraine.
For all of their blathering about foreign interference in US elections, no one interferes more in the elections of other countries than democrats.
Back in 2011 under Barack Obama’s aegis Hillary interfered in Russia’s election and it is why Putin hates Hillary.
Then in 2014 again under Obama’s aegis, Victoria Nuland decided that she’d engineer a coup in Ukraine and install her own puppet. It’s been called “the mess that Victoria Nuland made.”
Carl Gershman, the neocon president of the US-taxpayer-funded National Endowment for Democracy, explained the plan in a Post op-ed on Sept. 26, 2013. Gershman called Ukraine “the biggest prize” and an important interim step toward toppling Putin, who “may find himself on the losing end not just in the near abroad but within Russia itself.”
For her part, Nuland passed out cookies to anti-Yanukovych demonstrators at the Maidan square, reminded Ukrainian business leaders that the US had invested $5 billion in their “European aspirations,” declared “fuck the EU” for its less aggressive approach, and discussed with US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt who the new leaders of Ukraine should be. “Yats is the guy,” she said, referring to Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
Nuland saw her big chance on Feb. 20, 2014, when a mysterious sniper – apparently firing from a building controlled by the Right Sektor – shot and killed both police and protesters, escalating the crisis. On Feb. 21, in a desperate bid to avert more violence, Yanukovych agreed to a European-guaranteed plan in which he accepted reduced powers and called for early elections so he could be voted out of office.
But that wasn’t enough for the anti-Yanukovych forces who – led by Right Sektor and neo-Nazi militias – overran government buildings on Feb. 22, forcing Yanukovych and many of his officials to flee for their lives. With armed thugs patrolling the corridors of power, the final path to “regime change” was clear.
Instead of trying to salvage the Feb. 21 agreement, Nuland and European officials arranged for an unconstitutional procedure to strip Yanukovych of the presidency and declared the new regime “legitimate.” Nuland’s “guy” – Yatsenyuk – became prime minister.
This is why Putin annexed Crimea. Obama had no reaction but others did:
What the coup also did was revive long pent-up antagonisms between the ethnic Ukrainians in the west, including elements that had supported Adolf Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union during World War Two, and ethnic Russians in the south and east who feared the anti-Russian sentiments emanating from Kiev.
First, in Crimea and then in the so-called Donbas region, these ethnic Russians, who had been Yanukovych’s political base, resisted what they viewed as the illegitimate overthrow of their elected president. Both areas held referenda seeking separation from Ukraine, a move that Russia accepted in Crimea but resisted with the Donbas.
Donbas.
However, when the Kiev regime announced an “anti-terrorism operation” against the Donbas and dispatched neo-Nazi and other extremist militias to be the tip of the spear, Moscow began quietly assisting the embattled ethnic Russian rebels, a move that Nuland, the Obama administration and the mainstream news media called “Russian aggression.”
Amid the Western hysteria over Russia’s supposedly “imperial designs” and the thorough demonizing of Putin, President Barack Obama essentially authorized a new Cold War against Russia, reflected now in new US strategic planning that could cost the US taxpayers trillions of dollars and risk a possible nuclear confrontation.
Things remained quiet through the Trump administration. The Vindman boys then set Trump up and helped Biden “win” the 2020 election. Biden came along and blew everything up.
But Biden’s election brought the US administration and west European establishments back together again. These years also saw Ukraine refuse to guarantee autonomy for the Donbas, and western failure to put any pressure on Kyiv to do so.
This was accompanied by other developments that made Putin decide to bring matters concerning Ukraine to a head. These included the US-Ukrainian Strategic Partnership of November 2021, which held out the prospect of Ukraine becoming a heavily armed US ally in all but name, while continuing to threaten to retake the Donbas by force.
Biden then signaled that he wouldn’t mind a “minor incursion” and shortly afterward Putin began his Ukraine aggression. Now we are mired a proxy war which has been a stalemate for two years. The US is now pouring money into the Ukraine conflict with no end in sight and there is no one who can define what “winning” this war looks like or when it might be seen. There is a not-insignificant possibility that the Ukraine conflict could grow beyond those borders. There is also a strong possibility that Biden will put US troops on the ground to fight Russians directly once Ukraine runs out of bodies.
We’ve been lied to repeatedly. The Eastern separatists want autonomy. Ukraine is NOT a democracy. Zelenskyy has canceled elections and taken control of the media and shut down opposing political parties. Ukraine losses are understated and Russian losses are probably overstated.
BTW, Paul Manafort was a lobbyist hired by Yanukovych. Are the pieces coming together for you yet?
