Woman Who Falsely Accused Justice Kavanaugh Receives Award from ACLU

Christine Blasey Ford, the California professor who falsely accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault, received an award from the American Civil Liberties Union on Sunday, according to the New York Post.

Blasey Ford received the ACLU’s Rodger Baldwin Courage Award at a ceremony in Beverly Hills, in one of her first public appearances since her false accusations in September of 2018.

Accepting the award, Blasey Ford said that she felt she was “simply doing my duty as a citizen” when she first brought the accusations against then-Judge Kavanaugh in September of 2018.

She ultimately appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee to tell her story later that month, with Kavanaugh also testifying in response with evidence that debunked the allegations. Similar false accusations were then raised and further debunked by two other women, with Kavanaugh denying all three accusations. Kavanaugh was ultimately confirmed in October by a 50-48 margin.
